Thanks, Bill!
Let's hope Hart gets us back on track. Looking forward to having Coots and Myers back to steady the ship.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear that they are both progressing well to return. I was thinking well into feb before they got back. Young pro athletes bounce back fast I guess

I thought we played one of our better team games on Tuesday but at the same time, New Jersey wasn’t very sharp. We gave up some chances that most teams would take advantage of.

Still a lot of major issues. Also can’t bank on that much pp time. Build on the last game. Glad they are coming back with hart. He’ll be motivated and I think he’ll play great. Kid bounces back well normally. Sign of a great tendy

Bill,

Thank you for the work you do to keep us rabid fans amused. I keep seeing rumors about vince dunn and the interest from our flyers team...
What is your opinion on Dunn? I have to admit I'm not a big fan, especially for the asking price of a 1st. With the expansion coming up I am even less interested in adding anyone that will push out one of our already protected players.
What are your thoughts and feelings on vince dunn?

Thanks Bill

I don't think a team that has Shayne Gostisbehere and Erik Gustafsson needs Vince Dunn. Love the wheels -- he can fly -- and he's very good at moving and passing the puck but he's prone to breakdowns at the worst possible time.

I'd be fine with acquiring Dunn if there was a larger-scale reshaping of the blueline personnel. Adding him to the current mix wouldn't move the needle defensively.

Bil,

Do you get the sense with the names floating around the flyers like Gus signing, yandle rumors, dunn rumors that fletcher is putting a premium on skating and passing over necessarily defensive defenseman / board work / mistake free hockey? Just seems like we have a style we want to go after.

Bill, which D man do you see being waived to the taxi squad when Myers returns?

It will likely be friedman. But I dont think he makes it through. 700k cap hit. Played well enough. He might be on his way to Pittsburgh. Gus his play and his cap hit I believe are safer. But hes the more experienced and finished nhl player.

They were carrying 8 D before Myers got injured. Although Ghost was in Covid protocol, they had 8 including him. When Myers comes back, Morin will go back to the taxi squad. When Couturier comes back, Bunnaman will go back to the taxi squad.

I think they want and need a two-way guy over a mainly offensive D; but the former aren't in abundant supply especially with limited cap space.

I’ve been really impressed with Sanheim early on, he has been a little quiet offensively but he is not getting pushed around and has been winning a ton of battles. He looks much more poised than years past.

Easily Friedman. Hägg is untouchable and Gus was just signed and would make the GM look baD.

He has outplayed Hägg. Though as bill said they had 8 to start.

Makes sense. Is expansion playing a factor in it ? Like would they pull the trigger on a guy you absolutely have to protect ?

Depending on who the player is I don’t think you can dismiss protecting 4 defenseman. Now say a Yandle or a Dunn I do not protect if you acquired them.

In that case it would play a factor, making a trade for a potential 1 year rental

With Rib injuries, I believe it is a difference between fully healed and able to play.
Healed enough that you're not going to cause more damage, but your going to play in pain.

In the games I've watched, I've noticed this as well. I assume he put on a bit of muscle and is starting to fill out his frame. I think we have the makings of a serious d-core in a couple of years.

seems like he has one of the metabolism that burns off the weight. As he gets a little older he will be able to retain more weight. I think he will be a beast as he heads for his prime years 26-30.

I think the Flyers need something along the lines of a Jamie Oleksiak, Jake Muzzin Colton Parayko or Rasmus Ristolainen in my opinion to pair with Provorov.

My biggest wish aside from injured players getting healthy is that Ghost continues to play well and he and Provy find their old chemistry.

I think I’m the only person here who doesn’t get or understand this old chemistry of Provorov and Ghost. If this pair was ever ideal, they never would have been split up. To my memory, they were put together late in 2018 and heading into the playoffs but were never a long term pair.
