Totally. Still only two games in, so I think he’ll start putting it together. |

Haha. We know he’s streaky, but he put together some nice work with OTT. Hoping that side will show up.
If it doesn’t pan out, it was a low-risk-potential-reward move anyways - so not like it’s going to be a big loss.
Again, still very early. |

What's the status on Yandle? Are they still talking about removing him from the lineup despite the 3 points in 2 games? |

I do Duclair! it’s only been two games...on a new team with new line mates.
Perhaps this extra time off will be beneficial with the added practice time it brought. The other side of that is they will be playing four games in six days, see if they can handle that grind.
Go Panthers!!

They talked about removing him from the the lineup because of his lackadaisical defensive effort, especially last season. It was nothing more than a kick in the ass to wake him up. The only leverage they had on him with his big contract and full NMC was to make it clear that he wasn’t going to be in the lineup while giving half-assed effort on D just because of his games played streak. |

So you don't expect him to be benched?
My fantasy keeper league depends on it!

As long as he continues to show commitment and effort on D I think he will play. I think I actually saw him hit somebody opening night.
That said, I think they are still trying to find a way to trade him. |

Makes sense. I still think he's more useful than not for the Panthers, despite the cap hit being pretty heavy.

Totally agree. But then I think about a guy like Verhaege and how he’s just hit the ground running.
But every player is different! |

I agree with you when it comes to the PP for the Cats. |

Very true. Verhaeghe was a great signing by Zito. He’s been very impressive in the first two games. |

As long as indifference on defense doesn’t cancel out his power play contributions.
Especially when the whole mantra is to be more responsible defensively and harder to play against in general, they can’t allow Yandle to be floating around out there as he too often did the last couple of seasons. |

Agreed. I meant that Yandle is good for the Panthers in a PP capacity, but I’m not a fan of his defensive side. |

I wonder if he even saw the puck either time. Sometimes as a Panther fan, lol, they just seem doomed. Gotta laugh when Stralman makes a nice play picking up the puck behind his own net and just skates it right to center, only to take his teammate’s skates out from under him with the bullet pass right in his feet.
Panthers played pretty well for the most part after it was 2-0. PK looking strong. Better stop taking stupid penalties, though.
Verhaeghe scores his third goal so far, two of them have been where he finished off what Duclair started.
