Is it panic time yet for the defense and its health ? A 3-4 game skid could mean missing the playoffs in our division. Theres no push overs or easy wins.

Marchand missing the puck in the shootout last year is classic.

So Gus and Braun going to be playing 20 minutes a night huh, this D situation has become ugly very quick.

deploying players like Gustafsson and Braun in situations tailored to their strengths/weaknesses is a lot easier when you've got a pair like Sanheim/Myers that you can thrown out in all situations

it'll be interesting to see what the coaches choose to do with the new pairs, aside from the obvious play-the-hell-out-of-Provorov

I guess it depends on how long Myers will be out, but does Fletcher look at trade options. They never really replaced Niskanen and lets hope Myers is not out too long

We really don't have "trade options" with very little cap room. A team would need to take a contract back which is unlikely. Or someone would have to be injured bad enough for LTIR (really hope not).

No extra forward to the practice lines.

G to rw. But like how he worked with Scott when they played together.

I think the article said feared to be long term but let’s hope it’s just speculation.

Everyone was talking about risto. I was interested in zadorov. Don’t think Chicago had to pay too much for him. Everyone loves hindsight. I was laughed at s few years ago when I wanted to trade ghost for nurse.

I with others want a player who makes the other team hesitant. Not much of a physical presence on the team. Not that they are not tough but we are in the middle. Not a fast finesse team or bruising.

Flyers when they play as a team play fast. And they clog up the neutral zone.

Zadorov is not a great player. He would be in the realm of a slightly better Hagg. Who BTW does anyone wonder why hagg stopped hitting ? He used to be much better in that area close to the way nak is.

3 teams I look at who may be willing to deal this early:
Arizona - 5 pending ufa defenseman
Cbj - Clendening and Savard- could we somehow make a big deal with them for PLD?
Chicago - zadorov

Berube always said the puck moves faster than the players. Thanks. More wishful thinking. Send Gus back to the hawks for zadorov. Won’t happen.

One, as you allude to, would Chicago take Gustafsson? Like you said, won't happen. So what would they take? Are you prepared to pay the price and then once you do, which defenseman are you going to protect in the expansion draft?

Zadorov is a free agent he would be a true rental. As would all the other players I talked about above. Worst case scenario of myers is on LTIR it would likely cost a 2nd rounder or B prospect.

It’s Myers knee? Ugh. I thought it looked like his side (rib) or shoulder

wondering if this might be a good game to get Morin some time on the 4th line. Boston is extremely heavy this year, their youngsters are really chippy and you have the ringmaster of dirty Marchand.

Boston is struggling with 5 on 5 production so losing a bit of offense wouldn't be a death blow and he may be handy on the forecheck. Additionally, you could actually use him as a D man on the penalty kill as being down Myers hurts us there.

Odds are Bunny comes in but not sure how much that buys us. Will be interesting to watch.

Salary works. Don’t know what the hawks would want. Maybe a 4 th or 3 rd. Just guessing. Hopefully Gus gets used to the system sooner than later.

So you're going to pay a significant price to let the player walk? He's playing in Chicago's top 4 and is 25 years old and an RFA, not a UFA. Chicago is going to trade him for that? Doubtful.

You consider that a significant price? Who said they would walk? If he’s a rfa....

Don't be fooled to believe the Flyers have a good offense. Its one thing to score goals against Pittsburgh with a struggling Tristen Jarry, but its another thing to score goals against the Bruins. They are extremely well coached defensively and have very strict structure that provides multiple defensive layers. If the Flyers win this game, its going to be because they were very strict and patient with their defensive system as well, similar to what the Islanders did to the Bruins last game. If the Flyers do this they may win a 2-1 game. If the Flyers play like they have been playing, the Bruins could have a break out game 5 on 5 and it will get ugly quickly.
