Rooney getting a lot of time on fourth unit, Gauthier could be out.

I really think the faceoff problem is making DQ crazy

There are things I like about DQ and other things that just leave me scratching my (frank)ing head

At least it looks like he'd drink a good beverage. I can appreciate that none of that white claw nonsense

faceoffs, if Zibinajed gets kicked out of the dot he has another guy to go in

No, I saw it last game. Gautier was often negligent on things away from the puck. Not saying I agree with Quinn 100%, just that I think I understand his reasoning. And truthfully, he has been pretty consistent about taking guys to task for that.
I think another part of it may be that they really liked what they saw from Rooney in mini-camp and feel he still deserves the shot after getting knocked out of the line up.

While that's true, how often does Zib get kicked out? Seems silly to me to gameplan something that may only happen sporadically through the season.

Gauthier was motoring around the ice the 1 st two games. Didn't really pay attention last game. The only thing I noticed of Rooney was him almost dying at center ice from running into Johnston

That I don't know, but I do know that when they are on the powerplay and lose the faceoff and the puck gets cleared down I break poop

It's just funny to me. Faceoff's seem like its the one skill that can be most easily improved with practice. Like you can't make someone faster, smarter or have better skill. But the techniques of faceoffs should be capable of getting better. Just never seems to happen with this team.

True, but if you want Strome as a faceoff guy for PP, I'd rather have him take faceoffs and put him with Chytil and Kakko. If we are going to use BLem as a crease cleaner for cheap goals on PP, put him on PP1, though there's no reason to really have him there at all.

the reality is, there is only one powerplay unit

"PP1" plays about 1:38 of every single powerplay

Definitely. He didn't go out of his way to hit Rooney, but he also didn't move when he saw Rooney coming.

It sounds like DQ will move Lafrenière back to LW and try Kreider at RW on that top line with Mika Zibanejad. He said he hopes it will give Laf "a little more comfort." #NYR

MSG ice really sucks this year. Thank god Zib isn't out long term. Hughes looked real good for you guys. Putting on 14lbs of muscle seems to made him more confident.
- mdw7413

Howden should've trained with Hughes. Howden gets checked and can't stay up on his skates. He's got a big frame, but he's a featherweight.

I like Buch playing with Panarin. Don't get why DQ is still holding onto this Strome has to play with Panarin thing as Chytil has more than earned a shot on that line.
