I just watched the highlights of the game last night, and im going to break down every goal Freddy allowed.

1. A 5-on-3 for Ott. A well placed one-timer shot by Chabot on a nice pass from Batherson. Hard to blame Freddy on that.

2. Zaitsev shoots the puck through traffic from the boards, and Tkachuk deflects it in front. Zero chance for Freddy to stop it. Tkachuk could've set a lawn chair up in the crease and no Leaf would touch him. Idk what Brodie was doing, but it wasn't playing defence.

3. Auston Watson snaps it home from about 15ft out, all the time in the world. Once again, atrocious defense. No one taking their man. Hardly Freddys fault.

4. Zaitsev shot from the point, Freddy reacts to the initial shot that hits Brodie and bounces to Tierney who taps it home. Once again, Sens players are allowed to stand around unharassed in front of Freddy.

5. Brodie just gives the puck to Stepan behind the net, who throws it out front, there's a shot, Freddy saves it. Then a scramble in which the puck comes to a wide open Stepan at the side of the net who taps it in.

Watching it over again its so much more clear that the problem isn't Freddy. The defense from both the forwards and the defensemen is amateur at best. Mindbogglingly horrendous coverage, battling, decision making... Brodie was brutal last night and there's no denying that. No a single one of those goals was a "softie."

Stop blaming Freddy for the terrible defense this team plays.

Just curious, is the goalie's job only to stop the pucks when the D is playing well in front of him?

Isn't he also there to stop pucks when the D in front of him makes mistakes?

Isn't a great goalie one that stops a lot of pucks, even the hard ones that happened after a mistake, ie: turnover, out of position, bad pass, break away, 10 players in the crease, bad coverage, bad D, bad forward coverage in the D zone...etc?

Asking for a goalie friend.

It actually looks pretty decent considering his and Krug’s departure. Then again, we’ve played New Jersey twice

He could had MAYBE two of them, the ones where there were rebounds. But it isn't likely he could've done much. Its not his job to clear loose pucks, or tie up the opposing players.

I knew this would happen.

Dubas has a horrible record of evaluating talent.

Brodie=Barrie. He cant defend from what ive seen so far. And its not just "hes getting used to a new team" its mostly boneheaded passes, not battling in front of the net, or getting beat to the outside.

If there was a Venn diagram with Freddie apologists representing one circle and Dubas/Keefe haters in the other circle you would end up with a single circle.

I like Keefe.

I think he's been hard done by,, by Dubas. He did nothing to upgrade the flaws on the team.

Was the ammo alien-penetrating? Or tipped with some kind of lizard killing poison?

Otherwise ..Biden will laugh it all off with his 14 layers of lizard king skin and then shoot him with his laser eyes.
