It’s a hell of a list. I’m pickin Shesterkin for Calder, but there are a bunch of solid candidates.

I was under the impression that Colorado might wait another year on Byram? They padded their defensive corps a little, and may not wanna burn a year on him under these circumstances

I agree with most, aside from Byfield. I’m Canadian, I was a kings fan in the past, but even between the two... I don’t think Byfield will do much this year. I don’t think LA should even give him any more than 7 games. He did very little on the stat sheet outside of a 6-point fluke against a weak team. Not a standout. More impressed with some of the harder workers. Kaliyev should be on this list. One of the most impressive players at the WJC next to stutzle and zegras. Honourable mention to Heinola from Finland who was quite fun to watch. But his always-offence decisions led to a decent amount of bad pinches. So I don’t know if he will get a shot at bottom pair/2nd PP even with the Jets depleted blue line.

LA will not burn a year off Byfield's ELC it makes no sense in the rebuild plan. Plus it doesnt do any good for his development not playing significant and meaningful minutes as he would be looking at a bottom 6 role right now. Will be interesting battle next few years at Center for the Kings with Vilardi Turcotte and Byfield.
