No problem! Hoping to be more active now that things are starting up again and we actually have hockey to talk about

I personally like the lineup changes being experimented with so far in camp.
Chucky is our best player so him playing on the #1 line with Lindy (no offence to Backs) is a no brainer. The emergence of a new #1 line will only help JG & Mony from a line match up scenario. Dube and Mang will only get better and if Leivo and Simon can contribute offensively we will be very deep this year.
Prediction... Chucky gets 60 + points in 56 games this year!

I think perhaps Mr Doughty might give Kassian a run for the "I hate MT the most" title, though we won't see him at all this year.

So does anyone believe there is any chance we get to attend games this shortened season? If anywhere, I think Edmonton and Calgary (may) be the only potential...

Oh and (frank) Covid!

Happy 2021 all!

I really want to see if Leivo can play on the RW of JG and SM. If he can produce this might have been the most low key signing that has the most impact Tre makes this year.

Not bad but I’ll change a couple

Tkachuck- More offence. Personally I’d like him to see him get 65 points which equals out to 95 over 82. That may seem too optimistic given that he has yet to get close to that mark but I wouldn’t say it’s a reach. Along the lines of comments I made in the past, swapping backlund out for lindholm not only means having a more skilled linemate to play with but also likely facing easier competition. He has the talent and given those facts this is probably the likeliest season for him to have an offensive breakout, especially when you consider the Canadian division isn’t the best defensively.

Monahan- Be a play driver. This might be a bit of a hot take but somewhere around 3 or 4 years ago it seems like he stopped developing and became complacent with being Gaudreau’s trigger man. Even in our 1st place finishing season it seemed like he was just the byproduct of a Johnny/Lindholm duo that fed him golden opportunities. I want to see him play like a player that has his stats should and be a difference maker instead just a passenger.

Wildcard - Derek Ryan - defensive specialist but I think he has more offence to his game than most realize. While I can’t say for certain who is wingers will be I would like to expect more offence out of a forth line with him on it. As well with how thin we are on the RW (and the salary he makes) I wouldn’t be surprised to see him flank the right side in our top six if he’s playing well enough.

He was basically there last season (albeit in 13 more games than will be played this season). I think if his linemates are Leivo/Lindholm/Mangiapane/JG then you'll see his points go up even more.

I think Monahan is what he is at this point. There won't be much changing of the way he plays. I'm fine with him being a guy that gets 25-30 goals a season, just don't want him to be 1C.
