Idk how you could even have a meaningful trophy with the teams only playing within their own division. The mvp of the league but you only played against 7 out of 30 something teams , doesn’t make much sense. |

Good point. Matthews will have an asterisk. |

Agreed. Matthews’ award to lose. McDavid is crazy good, but EDM is not. Could also see Mackinnon winning it. He definitely deserved it last year, and you could argue the year before as well |

You gotta win something before it can be yours to lose. Matthews hasnt even sniffed that trophy and probably never will while McD Drai and Nate are in the league.

Mackinnon. He also has the feeling he's due badly, which will help him with votes. |

Matthew’s plays on a grossly underperforming team. IMO, that knocks him way down. He is also surrounded with more talent than any others considered yearly.
McDavid, MacKinnon, Eichel if he can get the Sabres to the playoffs |

This is Mackinnon’s to lose IMO....he’s the best player on the best team in the league, and in terms of overall talent, is 2nd to only maybe McDavid. Matthews is a good goal scorer, which is a great thing to be, but that’s pretty much all he does. |

Is he going to set a new career high in assists? Honest question, has anybody ever won the Hart trophy with a career high 36 assists? Pretty sure the going rate is minimum 60 apples..... |

This is McD's to lose. I am no Oiler fan, but he is simply the best player I have ever seen by a mile. Should he miss some games, MacKinnon is my #2 pick for sure. |

Matthews can snipe, no doubt. But he had better beat his career high 36 assists if he wants a sniff at MVP nominations. I fully expect the kid to break that weak record with ease, but that is still a far-cry from MVP. McD is a full step ahead of MacKinnon, who is a full step ahead of Matthews. He will need some injuries/suspensions/Covid precautions to top those two studs if he wants any chance at that trophy. |

I don't think Matthews will win the Hart. It will probably be MacKinnon or McJesus. But the bolded couldn't be more wrong. |
