It would not surprise me if Melnichuk is the best goalie of them all and certainly has the brightest future. I would ship one of the old farts off to Chicago and get the kid some serious action.

Melnichuk will be best served playing in the AHL this yer to learn the different angles of the NHL rink vs the International ones he is used to. I would have kept Tim Heed a the 6th D and I suspect that we will see a rotation amongst the people who play on the 3rd pairing this year.
Merkely better wake up or his career will pass him by...not getting invited to Team Canada's camp should be a giant neon sign that he has been his own worst enemy. We will see how he plays this year.
Dubnyk is here for the year to be exposed to the Kraken unless he regains form and passes Jones by but with the Cap situation being what it is, expect Jones to be here for the foreseeable future.
Kellman deserves a roster spot as he has been a responsible two way player ever since he step foot in camp last year. Gambrell, not so much....that's the open spot
