I said this after the draft but I listened to a podcast with a former nhler turned hockey scout. He said Amirov was the steal of the draft 2 days after the draft. Also said the goalie that went before him should’ve went top 5.

He also has no affiliation with the leafs.

Although an improvement from Exhibition Stadium (especially if you were only able to get seats way down the right field line), the Dome did not provide great sightlines in the upper decks for baseball and with the roof closed was a terrible venue for concerts.

Still pissed as all get out that Ontario tax payers dropped $570M US to build the Skydome in 1989, and then our wonderful cable company, the one that hoses us for our TV service, got it for $25M Cdn in 2004. Yes - you read that right ($0.04 on the Dollar). That is sumbusha right there.

Now they knock it down ... does the province get the land back. Wonder what the land is worth ??? Sell it to Orange Hitler, taxpayers pocket the coin. Maybe we even make up the loss on our build-spend. As long as Canadian banks don’t lend that POS the $$, we good.

Waters has done many shows in Toronto, His shows are spectacular. That said the Dome is easily the worst venue sound-wise for a show in Toronto (Exhibition place is the same sh!t). His show at the Molson Amphitheatre was by far the best for sound. Seeing high end shows at venues designed accoustically for concerts is the ultimate. Best sound quality venues in Toronto are probably: (smaller venues excepted)

I am curious, I bet there are quite a few teams who can't afford the European drafting the rich teams can employ.

I don't think its to piss off Don Cherry....The Leafs simply dump money into having the best Europe scouting there is to take advantage of other teams.

Does he share some of the same tendencies? I think it’s at least worth a conversation. The comparisons in the situations are way off though.

It will be interesting to see how Amirov devlops. Never watched him in a game yet, but from what I understand he is among the fastest and best skaters in the draft. He also has a great shot, time wll tell. On Askarov - I think he will be excellent. There are several really good young upcoming goalies to watch once hockey resumes.

Shesterkin, Sorokin, Hart look to be solid, I'm not convinced on Demko yet.

I made an attempt to explain why I feel this comparisson is offensive to some. Your ignorance is impressive. Trump is the worst President in the history of the US IMO, he is indeed a racist a thief and full of ignorance. In addition he has diminished democracy significantly in the US in my view. What is different is the level of force applied.

Putting Trump aside, you can argue that someone is a fascist like Hitler was a fascist without insulting Jews. Hitler was both a fascist and a genocidal murderer. Rampant nationalism and scapegoatism are parts of fascism even if 6 million aren’t killed.

I don’t think anybody seriously compared Trump to Hitler and some of the terms are short hands to suggest the drift towards autocratic, nationalistic tendencies which are real.
