I’d give up Voracek in a heart beat and put the cap $’s to better use |

It’s would suck to lose Nak, he brings energy and plays hard. If Gostisbehere is still a flyer by expansion day I would think Seattle definitely take a shot at him. If anything he’s a good PP guy. He’s defense isn’t as bad as some think either. I like Ghost, but he probably needs a change of scenery. |

Ghost is well not good. Please you can have him. NAK is a smart cheap pick. |

Possibly the worst pick Seattle could take. You suck. Do you even watch hockey? |

Ghost is bad and JVR's contract is an affliction. Laughton would be the pick, but your criteria exclude him, so NAK is fair. |

Certainly. Players like Laughton one would assume would be extended which then will change who is chosen for protection/who is selected. The later lists that will be done will start to check those boxes. |

The NAK pick seems right although I disagree with some of your reasoning.
The is no need for a Laughton handshake. If the Flyers want him they pursue him like any UFA. Seattle could also sign him as a UFA so there is no reason they would waste a pick on Laughton or any UFA.
Sweetening the deal for JVR is a bad idea and Rubtsov is no longer even a B prospect. In fact if he doesn’t do a 180 on his career path this year, I doubt he even gets a QO.
Ghost will be exposed but won’t be drafted unless his performance this year also does a 180.
NAK is a nice player but can easily be replaced. |

Lol my only question is who do you replace Klefbom with??? Ghost I think just needs a change of scenery to get back to either what he was or close to. Why not in a brand new franchise where expectations are lower and him not being in the doghouse (that’s what I presume he’s in with this coaching staff in Philly). He has the skill, just needs to get away from a “bad marriage” so to speak. |

Right or wrong I still think Philly exposes Jake and see if they bite, Hes still got talent, though sometimes frustrating, his skill, points, and game would be missed however the contract is in its later days and now more than ever with the flat cap that space will be needed for some big contracts that offseason (Hart, Sanheim, Patrick) With no big contracts coming off the books to make room if the cap stays flat Philly surely will look into that as an option. |

NAK is going to be a hard hitting 20 goal scorer with good speed. Youd be foolish not to take him. |

Real question is if they have the depth inhouse to replace him and his output. Frustrating as Jake can be, he is tough and rarely misses games, can take over when he wants to and always puts up points. His D Game has come around greatly as well, It would hurt to lose him but that contract could be a killer if he slows down a step or two. |

Laughton is the clear pick - SMS4016
the dude literally explained in detail why that isnt such a hot idea |
|
|

Just because a player isn't signed and is a UFA, like Laughton, it doesn't stop Seattle from talking with him, before free-agency and signing him.
It just means that Seattle doesn't get to take another player from that team
It is in the expansion rules, just like this was available for Vegas. |

Wouldn't a new team be looking for scoring? Is why I believe JVR would've been my choice, with whats being selected at this time is around the cap floor |

Ghost Bear was on pace for 10 goals and ~30 points despite third pairing duties, with a corsi over 50%.
Sure he is flawed, sure he is mostly offense, and sure his 17 goal season is a fluke. But there is simply no way he gets exposed and not taken...especially for a replacement level player.
He will likely get traded for decent value, or if he gets exposed, he is one of the few sure bets that Francis will pencil in to his top 4.
I simply don’t get the Ghost Bear bashing and hope Fletcher feels the same way and sells him for pennies to the coyotes!! |
