The Keenan quote about Pelle was a tad too poignant and lachrymatory this early in the day.

I shed a quiet tear, myself. This man puts it better than I ever could.

An astonishing thing happened this year relating to the troops. Polls showed a Republican Presidential candidate less popular than his challenger. I believe this has not happened since Kennedy.

This is in spite of the fact that there was a huge pay raise for the military. Turns out, you can buy losers with a few months of a booming economy, but not our troops.

As such, I join you all in the salute.

Those who cannot, or will not, or do not, read elementary facts such as this:

https://www.marketwatch.c...as-under-obama-2019-11-12

(I deliberately chose a business oriented Rupert Murdoch owned website that is widely read in the business community and has no political ideology).

Now, its bloody slow, but lets give hockey discussions a chance to take root. I am bowing out of this sub-thread.

I am mystified by the NHL article quoted by Bill.

Teams go into short bubbles, play their games (presumably locally), then emerge to join normal life.

But here's the thing: the bubbles need to be long for this policy to make sense. Once tested clean, you can stay clean by being in the bubble. But if you emerge after just a week or two, you will expose yourself again. Then it will knock you out for weeks.

And the NHL will start play early Jan and the AHL in early Feb? How does that affect guys like Frost?

Ehh, service members are individuals who can think for themselves and vote for whoever they want. Likewise, the President got the highest share of the minority vote for a GOP candidate since 1960. In any event, Happy Veterans Day!

Here are you are bringing up politics again. Hey we all know how accurate polls are.

You are becoming unhinged and are on the edge of the ledge. It's only a matter of time.

There was no thread to derail my man. Look closely at the posts and count the # of hockey posts before someone mentioned Veteran's Day (which, btw, has nothing whatsoever to do with Hockey).

Instead of shrieking in horror like a Victorian dowager who has experienced the indignity of the hemline of her petticoat being exposed, why don't you attempt to construct that whose destruction you so misguidedly bemoan?

Now should I supply the links to the numerous and overwhelming number of business websites that state the opposite and clog up the thread?

So now it's lets give hockey discussion a chance to take root and you're bowing out. Can't make it up.

A lack of traffic currently is a lame excuse for you to use in bringing politics into the thread. I would guarantee that if you, the poster who consistently derails threads would stop, then the hockey traffic would pick up.

It's a National holiday and a non partisan celebration of the heroes of our Country. As a scholar and an academic, you should be aware of that distinction and should be able to figure it out without that having to be explained to you but I guess not.
