Tim Kerr had the 2nd fastest release of a shot that I ever saw, only Mike Bossy was faster. He really doesn’t get enough credit for just how good he was. |

Kerr’s # 12 should be in the rafters. Simple as that! |

Agreed!
Also, good on the scouting staff and Fletcher for identifying what looks to be another late round gem. Fletcher even traded a couple of 7th rounders to move up and get Desnoyers. I remember reading that somebody on the scouting staff knew his former coach and was told the kid had some untapped potential. |

Until he gets in the HHOF that wont happen.
And if Cam Neeley is in, Kerr should be in. But I doubt it happens. |

Still amazes me he wasn’t drafted. Even for his size at 6’3” 225 lbs. Late bloomer I guess. |

So, whats the skinny on this Desnoyer kid? Checking his stats past 2 years, he played 122 games for Moncton Wildcats for 23 goals and 65 odd points.
This year he changed teams to Halifax and has 11 Goals and 20 points in 12 games!
Based on the small sample, and the wildly different trajectory, I am inclined to believe this is a blip? |

RIP Alex Trebek.
Gentle grace and devotion to duty till the end. A pillar of non-sensationalistic entertainment that got high viewership even in the age of reality tv. In many ways, embodied the best of Canadian decency.
But no one beats stage 4 pancreatic cancer, not even guys like him. |

He went from being a depth player on a deep team, to being one of the top players on a mediocre squad. Increased ice time, opportunity and better linemates.
And small sample size.

How could he have better linemates moving from a deep team to a mediocre one? |

Because maybe he is playing on the first line instead of the 4th?

Pretty amazing that a scholar and an academic couldn't figure that out.
