Andrew Ladd’s contract is by far the worst contract on this team. He has almost zero value as a player. At least JB can play and contribute. Ladd isnt worth a bag of pucks and is about as tough as plate glass.

I agree Ladd's is the worst contract but the chances of him getting moved before the season are very slim.

My point was that Boychuk's contract is the most expensive of the bad contracts that could have potentially been traded with assets.

The one the Garth Snow tried to do was recognize guys early....and sign them to cost effective deals......Franz, Hamonic, Pelech, and Mayfield.
Lou is getting things done, but much of what he is doing is going to hurt us down the road?.....yes 5M is Good-but 6x7 now would have looked nice compared to 5x2+7.5x7 down the road.

Well, because we needed him. Where were we 5 years ago ???
I wish I didn't buy the car I have right now 5 years ago...but I could afford it, and wanted it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Regarding RFA Mathew Barzal, newly-resigned #Isles D Ryan Pulock says two have talked in the offseason. Says goal for both was to have deals that worked for both sides in order to keep as much of this group together as possible. Pulock says they want to win here.

We couldn't sign Boychuk to the same type of deal that Pulock signed b/c he was a UFA and Pulock was An RFA. That is a VERY big difference.

The Pulock contract is perfect b/c we need to keep his cap hit low this year and in 2 years we have tons of cap space coming off the books.. They can extend him for more and longer term next season.
