In an off-season where most trades are simply a matter of money/contracts, this is a good hockey trade. Lias is a decent player however, if he doesn't improve his skating and emotionally mature he will not become an impact player in the NHL. He really needed a change of scenery and Los Angeles is about as far away from NY as you can get.

As a Rangers fan, I wish him well...

As for his future with the Rangers, he is silent for the first time in the interview. He takes a few seconds and then responds by saying that he feels as if people sometimes forgets he’s only 21 and he is still learning both on and off the ice. He has realized that he has to focus on this season and his play first.

This is my favorite part of that interview. Its promising. I dont have big hope. But hes got talent. He seems to understand his part and the teams part. He just needs time and help, and most importantly some understanding and support. We shall see where it goes.

Hopefully just changing things up will help him restart his career. He will have alot of competition on the Kings AHL team this year with guys like Turcotte, Akil Thomas, ect all expected to be in the AHL this year.

So far it's been a home-run free agent day for Blake. Keep it up!

He hasn't even singled to first base. In fact, I'm not sure that he's even gone to bat yet.

I like it. Replacements for Poulin and LaDue.
