Thank you Karine for listening to Tony Marinaro (dt99999 on here) so we don't have to

Tarasenko anyone?

St-Louis are capspace tied. They have 4 UFA, 5 RFA for
Next year. Vincent Dunn for this year.

Habs and St Louis been trades partner. Habs need a sniper, St-Louis need to shred off salary and Tarasenko could be a fit. 3 years left, 7.5m. He had a huge injury his year though.

But could prospect, picks and maybe a low salary go the other way? I doubt St Louis would move him but you never know.

Else there is Schwartz or Steen that could be available. 1 year left

well, they cannot talk about all the players, but half the time on one single player?!? I just find it odd.

That's what happens when they have an amateur doing the interview.

He wanted to ask his questions, not the questions fans wanted asked

I never listen to Marinara. does he usually have a fix on Domi or it was just this time?
nothing on Allen and Edmunston? that's surprising.

He’s not going anywhere that’s correct. We will be negotiating with him and a couple of things could happen, we can either agree on the terms of a longer contract or we can sign him for a year if things get difficult since he has arbitration rights.

Domi will soon be traded lol

Haven't listened to him for a few years. Just doing my part to make sure he still has the least listened to show on radio in the city.

But usually he'll obsess over a player (positive or negative) and beat the issue into the ground.

One year would be dumb. He gets UFA status after that?

if they go to arbitration, I think they have the choice between 1 or 2 years.

Not to disappoint anyone but I don't see Domi being dealt. First of all, trading him now is not solid asset management. Forty-four point wingers/centremen don't exactly lead to a major return. Hammer out a deal that is as close to team friendly as we can get. He may not hit 72 again but 60/65 would be more than acceptable. He will rebound in my opinion. Don't jump on the bandwagon. Hang in there with the guy.

"... trading picks and prospects is now a possibility and Bergevin doesn’t feel like the needs he’s yet to address could be met by signing someone on the free agency market." - Karine Hains

That's what I want to hear from him at this point ... we have filled the cupboards over the last few years and we also have a ton of picks this year. We are finally in a good position to trade for what we need.

Free agency is rarely worth it (unless you're a cup contender looking for that final piece of the puzzle.

I do hope you're right

if he can sort it out, Domi has a nice mix of talent and grit, he just needs to find consistency (a bit like Drouin, about the consistency, not the grit I know I know, he has no heart lol)

while I agree, MB said and we all know Habs need to get bigger.
Tatar, Drouin, Domi, Gallagher, Armia, Lekhonen.... these are your top3 lines wingers.
in order to add a big guy, you need to get one these previous 6 out. Who?
I think we can rule out Gallagher and Armia, probably Drouin too.

how so, because the return wouldn't be worth it for the habs anyways?

We could package him with some picks/prospects ... I doubt Drouin will ever get his poop together at this point.

It would also clear some cap space for a more useful asset.

yeah last night's conversation cleared that up

but it'll be interesting to see what MB does next, status quo would be unacceptable at this point
