No. They already have Blackwood. |

I realize they have blackwood, hes not proven he is the long term answer yet and if this kid is as good as they say it might be worth it .

Mckenzie is more proven than Askarov. And Ek supporting him is the kiss of death. |

Blackwood numbers were all on the upswing as the season progressed. He was putting up consistent elite goaltending stats before the Pandemic. He is getting bigger and stronger add the fact he is putting up those numbers with the swiss cheese defenders playing in front of him. If the younger players develop as intended, the Devils will become a solid team for years to come. I see a really strong team coming down the pike. If Askarov is available, grab him to make a nice tandem. The days of a goalie playing 60-70 games are over. Marty's records will never have a chance of being broken with the way goalies are used and played today |

No. Goalies are the running backs of the NHL. |

They definitely could use some quality goaltending in the organization but unless Askarov is available at #18 for their 2nd pick, they aren't going to get him.
Trading down will be too expensive so they should take a different goalie later. Their real concern is fixing the back up spot behind Blackwood. The team has big needs elsewhere. |
