The Penguins are struggling to find a third line center, so they're going to trade Malkin for a dman when they already have a #1 dman sign, and then have two voids at center to fill? Hmmm sure, that make sense. |

This trade needs a third party to really bring the sizzle. How can NJ work Subban into the mix? |

Ok, but only if we don't have to retain any of P.K's salary. |

None of it makes sense. Malkin isn't going anywhere. It must be a slow hockey news day.

Malkin the biggest name to play there?
Thought Peter Forsberg played there a while back.
BS rumor off the top of your head.
Why would Nashville give up that much for a player in his 30's?
Not happening. |

Ek, why doesn't Pittsburgh just keep Malkin and sign Cody Ceci? During practice Malkin can skate circles around Ceci and feel like a man. Simple.
Also, why doesn't Nashville just get Ovechkin instead? I think that was an E4 once so probably still moving in inches someway shape form. |

Ok, I'll play along...
TO NSH: Evgeni Malkin, Jack Johnson and Patrick Hornqvist
TO PIT: Johansen ($3M retained), Victor Arvidsson and their next three 1st round picks.
I mean, if you want to talk about silly trades I'll give you some silly trades. |

They already have Jack Johnson for that. |

Yes, Nashville is in need of a playmaker forward, but why continue to overpay for older options. And where would Johansen and Duchene end up then, since pretty sure they are in the #1 & #2 C roles currently. Unless one of them are moved as well to another team.
Nashville needs scoring wingers, enough with the playmaking centers.
And that would be a lot to give up for Malkin, even if he could fit in salary-wise. |

I think the Malkin Trade would be great for both teams. |

Malkin has been protected behind Crosby his whole career. He isn’t a top line center on most teams today, he isn’t worth that much value in trade ever.
I think a more plausible rumor would be Malkin to Arizona for Oliver EkmanLarsson straight up. |

I appreciate Eks unwillingness to let the "Malkin wants to be the man" thing go.
The trade is out of order though. Johanssen, Tolvanen and a 1st maybe. Duchene, Fabbro and a 1st preferably. |
