Good deal for the Habs if they can sign him they would be getting a solid young d-man.

Ça reste à voir mais si il parvient à le signer, ce sera un pas dans la bonne direction à mon avis

Will be interesting to see what happens if he signs.

They experimented with Mete on his off-side during the playoffs, wonder if a Romanov / Mete / Juulsen 5-6-7 rotation is the plan.

I want to see more of Juulsen (if he is now top shape) Mete, well, i’m afraid they ruined him by rushing him...

Unless they are 100% sure Juulsen is ready to go with no lingering issues and / or they have complete confidence that Fleury (or Leskinen or Olofsson, if they are still around) can step in, if Juulsen is not.

We all know MB likes the deep D.

Solid pickup if he’s signed and he better be (Pleaseee)

Physical, home defenseman, PK, Big guy, Clear net and a cup winner/Allen friend.

Charriot-Weber
Edmundson-Petry

It’s a solid top 4. Hopefully the third pair is as strong.

Kulak or Romanov-Juulsen/Fleury/UFA

I think Mete time is finished and he will be packaged.

Next: BIG RW. We need size up front now.

So far, MB is ticking the boxes off his shopping list and yup, he’s now up to be a big W who can score, the right would make sense since Gallagher shouldn’t be your top RW. He will try and sign Edmundson before trading again I think just to have a complete picture of which assets his can move. This really si an interesting off-season so far.

Great post! I love this deal... even if they don't sign him, the Habs are pro-active! Love it. As for the help up front, don't forget that alot of RFA are arbitration eligible... some teams may opt to not sign them and would become UFAs... hoping for Mantha, Duclair, or something in those lines. We might be in for a real surprise!

They are indeed pro active and if they don’t sign him well, they’ll only have lost a 5th round pick in a draft where they still have 11 selections. It would be insanely surprising if such good players became UFAs but hey, never say never I guess. I do think MB prefers hockey trades as opposed to free agents shopping, I mean 3 years ago, he got us Drouin like that, than 2 years ago, it was Domi, I think another big trade is coming, well, I hope it is tbh.

Mantha would look good. He’s big, can score and can drop the gloves if need to. He’d be perfect as an Habs!! Maybe even a Josh Anderson although his injuries are starting to be scary

There's a strong possibility they go with this:
Chiarot Weber
Edmundson Petry
Kulak Romanov
Mete
We don't know what is going to happen with Romanov yet. Same for Juulsen and Fleury. So I think MB keeps Mete for now until those questions are cleared up and rotate Mete with Kulak and Romanov on the 3rd pair. Romanov could be 7thD if he's not ready.
As for signing Edmundson, I really don't see MB waisting a pick for nothing even if its just a 5th rd one. Not his style.

I don't see Romanov playing more than 55-60 games, assuming an 82 game season, that is why I am not sure Mete is dealt (unless part of a bigger package).
