Sorokin and his agent already agreed to start in the AHL next year. It was mentioned when he signed his contract. While I don't think he will remain there for the season I could easily see them letting him play there for a few months. Especially b/c B-port will be starting their season earlier than the NHL.

not saying it isn’t true but where did you see this? The only thing I recall seeing was if the NHL season were delayed he would get some games under his belt in the AHL waiting for the nhl season to resume.

Lamorello has answered a question about him starting in AHL with .. I hope so .. mentioning they start their season earlier and getting feet wet.. etc. then either Staple of one of other reporters asked his agent and he said Sorokin was fine with starting in AHL. If I can find it I will post it.
