Ben Shelley: Notes from Game 5: Islanders vs. Flyers

I'm hoping they can get it together and finally play a full game of Isles hockey against the Flyers, because this poor level of play wont work against Tampa.

Now I’m not trying to knock Varlamov, as I don’t put the game 5 loss on him. But I personally would like to see Greiss in net for game 6.

I’m good with this. He was solid in both relief and his start. Although I know not popular, wouldn’t mind Ross in either, but not at the expense of Barzal not being able to play. I’d like to see our forwards playing more physical on their D.

Are you insinuating that the level headed individuals of high morals worth that grace this board, will behave poorly in response to this suggestion?

I’d like the team as a whole to tighten up a bit. I don’t know what happened in the 3rd last night, but the 1st and 2nd left much to be desired.

We didn’t really start playing until we had to. Not a recipe for success. Agree, we need to tighten up in all areas of the ice. Still waiting on your boy gap tooth to produce. And your golden boy needs to get back on track too. You might be wearing ass less chaps if we don’t close out tomorrow. Your girl will understand.

It’ll be Varlamov let’s hope he has a good game. Flyers are going to push the issue and if they win tonight all bets are off as to the outcome of this series. The flyers know that and the islanders know that. The islanders better be ready to play. Let’s see how they respond.
