Karine Hains: The Curious Case of Max Domi For the first time in a long time, the Montreal Canadiens seem set at centre, but where does that leave Max Domi?

Just give him 2 at 5.5 and move on. No need to have any drama.

Contracts negotiations are rarely without drame... Where do you see him fitting in in the line-up?

I think we can assume that
Drouin Suzuki Armia will be our 1st line. they did well at the end.
I could see Tatar kk Gallagher as the 2nd line until the trade dead line whenTatar could be traded if Habs are out of the playoffs.
that leaves Lekhonen Danault Byron on the 3rd.
no place for Domi. sorry. unless you play him on the 3rd and Byron on the 4th.

hopefully a trade will happen to improve the top6

I'd rather have him start on that Suzuki line and have the Finn line. Tatar/Danault/Gallagher as the 2nd or 1st or whatever. KK as the 3rd. Byron can stay on the 4th and play PK. He'll probably get more PK minutes than 5/5

that's the thing with Mtl, 10 decent forwards, but no star, no real gamebraker. not yet.

they need to get bigger. half of these 10 forwards are too small.

They have cash/picks and some decent 2nd tier players. Package them up if it makes sense. Otherwise, they are at least decent and have 3 potential lines. Would it be nice to have some game breakers? Sure. I think Suzuki will get close. Certainly game breakers didn't help the penguins any. So if you don't have that star guy, then at least try to do it by platoon.

I'd like them to package a player or 2, picks and prospects if needed, to improve the top6 with a big winger who can score.
then do it again.
go get 2 big wingers for our kids.
Gallagher and Caufield should be the only small ones they have going forward.

so the draft is tentatively scheduled for October 9–10, has the league already determined the logistics of it?

All they’ve said so far is that it will be held virtually. Guessing they will model it after what the NFL did really.
