This is why I just have little interest in discussing hypothetical trades. None of us have any clue who the Rangers actually like or are targeting. It seems pointless to waste time debating and arguing different trade proposals that will never happen.

I am just in the wait and see approach mode haha

Gorton always seems to make a move out of left field, and with some big name RFAs I won't be surprised if he makes one this year. I'm comfortable enough with the players we have for next season. I want to see if they can get rolling again without a months long pause. Another year of development, another year in Quinn's system. I see no reason to make a knee jerk reaction that can even slightly derail the rebuild.

To think he has to educate us about Cap friendly is hilarious.

I agree with this. I think very good chance Gorton will acquire somebody none of us have even brought up.

The only two FAs we should retain are Giorgie (RFA) and Fast (UFA). Strome is overrated. TDA is a one-dimensional little weenie. We should sell high on both. We need to somehow orchestrate a graceful exit for Hank, and sign Georgie, which will give us a perfect, young goalie tandem. Then re-sign Quickie to a reasonable deal. He is our glue. Lose Staal and/or Smith, somehow. Dangle Trouba for a potential sweet return. The rest of the tweaks come via trades.

IMO. You can’t have both Strome and DeAngelo back. If Strome stays, it should be no more than a 1 year deal for 3.5m. If he’s still 2C, don’t expect team to be much better. He can be 3c or RW, but only if we let Fast walk. Besides Baron, we signed Khodorenko out of Mich St. Had plenty of interest from other nhl teams. Let’s not forget last years 2nd rd pick, Karl Henriksson. DeAngelo is best trade chip as far as maybe getting an upgrade at 2C. Other options are trying to get a ufa like Tyler Ennis on a cheap, 1 year deal. Same with defense. With flat cap the ufa market should be cheap pickings.

I mean Strome isn’t coming back on a paycut. He’d easily get more than that just from arbitration. That’s not realistic

Definately Gorton 1st move should be getting Smiths trade list and moving him at all cost. With all the prospects we have, he should be able to get a team with cap space to take Smith for a year with sweetener. Then you’re starting out with cap flexibility in any other deals. Hank retiring would also help. Not likely but, you never know.

You're not wrong about that. But, nothing in his comments was argumentative or offside.
I hate that most attempts to legitimately join a conversation on any other board on this site end with the "home" posters ganging up on a fan of any other team that has the audacity to offer an opinion. Yes, there are jackwads like BruceFlyers, but there are also people who are genuinely interested in having a civil discussion and learning a little and god forbid, perhaps even offering insight that could be true and/or refreshing.
Anyway,... back to our regular programming...
Peace, love, dope.

Oh come on. You even screwed it up when you checked cap friendly the first time and still said Palat had a 20 team NTC and then had to fix your post.

We don’t need to be educated here brah.

We are smart.

I loved the one where Jeremy Roenick still on the Hawks did a wraparound slapshot & scored EVERY time.

My trades are generally ok. I’d like an example unlikely, but I feel like they’re fair

Getting Mario Lemieux to fight was the best.
