I’m against trading him, we could have the best right side in the league with Trouba ADA Fox.

All Im saying is you dont see a guy like Domi traded 1 for 1 for a defenseman unless that guy is Seth Jones, who you can argue is now one of the top 5, maybe even top 3, players at his position.

Im not knocking his value hes got plenty, just saying when it comes to getting 24 year old 2C, potential 1C, there will almost always be overpay.

- aecliptic

I’m fine with an overpay, but at the same time you have to over pay for a 25 year old 2C with upside, you also have to overpay for a 24 year old RHD that was just on pace for a 65 point season.

well it's really hard to compare it like that because there are cap issues that would be at the heart of trading ADA

they traded Zubov because he got manhandled in the '95 playoffs vs the Flyers and Neil Smith wanted a tough defenseman to handle the Legion of Doom

yeah definitely not defending it, it's ridiculous to make a reactionary trade like that because of one playoff series

I see DeAngelo being the 3rd pair RH D man behind Trouba and Fox. I like Tony and would only trade him in a good deal but I also don't want that 3rd pair player making 5 million or more.

Hence I am at a crossroads

Like drafting McIlrath because Gaborik got the snot kicked out of him while our team watched

Simple, if Lundkvist is better than Tony you trade Tony, if not, you trade Lundkvist

It’s going to suck if they have to move him because his contract demands are too high, but that’s life in a cap world. There’s going to be some casualties.

I still think they should see how he does on the left side. Kill two birds with one stone.

ADA Trouba
Lindgren Fox
Miller Nils

That’s basically three top pairings.

I took this from one of the draft sites. Maybe Laf could be a center🤷🏻‍♂️

“Will be a solid attacking wing but might also find a home as a NHL centre with the way he easily makes his way inside. A smooth high speed heads up player who moves effortlessly through the attack zone with such good confidence and presence.”

the thing is they have to sign him to big money before even trying him on the left side

I am all for signing ADA to a bridge deal giving that a shot though

I like the bridge deal idea. The only way you move him is if we are getting a legit 2C back. The defense pipeline is way stronger than the center depth.

Yeah, this seems like the only way he stays. We simply can't give him the money and term he really wants this year. Without trades we don't have the cap space to get to where we have cap flexibility. And, I don't really want to see any big trades yet. Yes, we are thin at center, but we are golden everywhere else and in one more season we are golden with the cap, too.

I hope you aren't implying that Max Domi would bring back Jones one for one. That would signify a flaw in your trade proposal matrix from the beginning.

so, when considering that he wants a long term big money contract with the Rangers, a team that just endured negative publicity when K'Andre Miller was on a team arranged Zoom chat and somebody broke in and called him the N WORD like 45,000 times......

don't you think Tony D would be wise to just shut the hell up on twitter?
