Im thinking he is a 2nd line center who is 23yo. Would you trade a guy who just put up 44 points in 68 games for a guy who was drafted 2 yrs ago and hasnt played not 1 NHL game?? A guy who turned tail less than a yr ago and went back to Russia?

Say we were doing a NHL20 trade for argument sake, If you had Cirelli and I said Id give you a late first rd pick and Kravtsov would you do it?

- Brukie

Cirelli is a 3rd line center getting 2nd line minutes cause Stamkos is out. He was a 3rd round pick who didn’t play his 1st nhl game until his 3rd season after being drafted... he only played 18 games his rookie year. Kravtsov was still in khl his post draft year. This coming season will be his 3rd season after being drafted, so if he plays 18 games he’ll be on same pace as Cirelli. He has until next year to become a regular. Rangers aren’t trading either Kravtsov or a 1st for Cirelli

I think everyone is giving up or undervaluing Kravtsov. Not every prospect hits a home run year one, Are you giving up on Jack Hughes and Kakko as well then?
- airjan23

Ty. Cirelli played 18 games his rookie year, 3 years after being drafted!!

I don’t see anyone trading out of the top 3 this year.
- nyrangers9479

Agreed. it would have to be an insane over payment that depletes the acquiring teams prospect/player pool.

But to be serious., not a chance in hell.

Maybe a package like Buch, ADA, Kravtsov, Carolina 1st, and next years first gets it done. Maybe.

What’s interesting is that when you hear offers for our first -it’s not as much as that. We would take a bag of peanuts😂

I mean Strome isn’t coming back on a paycut. He’d easily get more than that just from arbitration. That’s not realistic
- jimbro83

Then he’s not coming back!

Gorton has been trying to move Smith the day after he signed him.
- Brukie
a lot easier when he’s in last year of contract

The only legit scenario I have seen is Ottawa sending 3 and 5 to the Rangers and even that being considered an overpayment.

Apparently the Senators owner came out and publicly said they aren't trading up

Well thats the thing. Almost every fan of every team wants to give up scrubs to get another teams good players or pics. Why most trade scenarios on HB are the product of having the IQ of a carrot.

Yeah I'm confused. I get fans overvaluing their players/prospects and all but how is it that our 1st overall pick is worth about half as much as LA's 2nd overall pick?

I’ve been trying to argue that on here for years. Kravtsov and a 1st don’t even get the conversation started for Cirelli but then Buch is worth a 3rd and 4th (exaggerating a bit)

I just don’t think that’s nearly enough anyway. There has been exactly one bust in 25 years of first overall picks- To drop off at two is much more significant

That's why KPE always threw in the 5th and 7th round picks to make the trades more realistic

I will not even remotely claim to be the authority on trade values...especially this year...but if the 2nd overall is worth something like:

Buchnevich (a 24yr old 20 goal 40-50pt player)
DeAngelo (4th highest scoring Dman last season)
Kravtsov (top 10 pick with 1 year in NA and no NHL games)
Carolina 1st (mid-late round pick)
next years 1st (probably mid-late round pick)

then NY's 1st overall has to be worth something Lindros level ridiculous...

NY 1st overall for Larkin and Det's 1st...which still isn't even close to Lindros level

We know everything!

I just think it’s funny how we get yelled at for proposing crazy trades when the guy who owns/runs this site makes crazy trades or rumors haha

Well everyone knows EK is special. At least if there are trade proposals they should be somewhat realistic. Not like Strome, Buch and a late 1st for MacKinnon

I actually can't believe anyone would even include Lias in a trade. His value is zip. Kind of like when the Isles tried to move Ho-Sang
