And HABS closed the shop selling not adding at the TD. Apparently NHL with the Salary Cap, is so waterd down that it is no air between the top seed and the worst seed. Flyers had one good period in this series!!!

Welp, is everyone ready for how ugly this thread is gonna get because the Flyers played like hot garbage, and SOMEBODY has been doing their best to stoke the fires of every other franchises’ fan bases in the league

I don’t think this is a loss that you just brush off as a fan. Sure, you win some and you lose some but it’s the way you lose that’s a concern. I felt like we were outworked, outplayed and out smarted for 60 minutes. I felt like everyone laid down including the coaching staff who refused to make in game adjustments.

I would like to have seen a timeout when it was 2-0 , i know it was early but you could tell they were getting run out of the rink. Only positive is it is 1-1 and our top players have not contributed anything offensively. I have not seen Couturier ever look this bad, and i am not putting it all on him. Many others must simply step up

Bill, I think you did a great job on your description of this game and where the Flyers are as a team in this series. From the no shows of the core to the response to the Domi crease crash. The Flyers have another gear they need to get too. All this talk about ‘one of the cup favourites‘ May have gone to their collective heads.
To say Braun and Ghost struggled is a vast understatement....but in this one the collective team blew....granted some more then others. Hopefully the embarrassment is enough to jolt them for Sunday’s game.

I’m not trolling here but this was the problem with av in New York he’s a great regular season coach but in the playoffs he is very stubborn and tends to get out coached and leans to hard on his veteran guys. I’m not going to say it will happen here but it will be interesting to watch. Make no mistake the only team I dislike more than the flyers is the piles but having said that it would be a shame to see a team as talented as the flyers lose because they were out coached.

But it’s the playoffs. What other choice is there?.....it’s tough, but you watch the video as a player, and you have a strong practice today, and your right back at it tomorrow night. As fans we all should be concerned with the compete level....losing a playoff game is different from being outworked and embarrassed.
Frankly I’m on the fence about a few lineup changes, but the time is probably now before this thing gets away from them....still anyone’s series...but it doesn’t feel that way.

I don’t think coaching had anything to do with yesterday’s debacle....or if it did it’s pretty far down on the list. At least to this point coach V has done a great job.

You may not be trolling but you are completely off base. Yesterday's loss had zero to do with coaching. They weren't out coached.

Here is a news flash. At some point in every coaches tenure, things will go south, players will lose confidence and will tune a coach out. This happens eventually with every coach and a team needs a new voice. That's all that happened in NY. There is no question that Vigneault is one of the top coaches and coaching tacticians in the NHL.

That was such an utterly pathetic loss. Can a team come back from that? Has any team been that badly beaten, in the playoffs, and come back to win the series?

Game 1
Period 1 - Dominant
Period 2 - Terrible
Period 3 - Hung on

Game 2
Period 1 - Terrible
Period 2 - Terrible
Period 3 - Terrible

All they can do is come back with a better effort because it really can’t get any worse. As it stands, we haven’t scored in 4 straight periods.

Here’s a news flash for you BEWARE it’s funny how you weren’t singing avs praises as one of the best coach’s in the nhl until he came to the flyers just because he hasn’t been with the flyers that long doesn’t mean it can’t happen! And your right the ass whipping the other day may not have anything to do with coaching but the next game will surely tell the tale!

No argument here. I have never minded losing if it’s a hard fought game, I don’t think the Flyers are good enough to allow The other team to outwork them and expect anything different the yesterday’s result.

Last time Habs dismantled an AV team in the playoffs in 2017, Rangers responded by choking the life out of the Habs and they didn’t win another game. As a Habs fan what I’m watching for is how Montreal responds to AV’s adjustments.

News flash for you. I lobbied for Vigneault to be hired by the Flyers and was extremely happy when they did so. Do you have any facts to substantiate that claim?

What I saw was a team with little heart and next to no pushback. FFS, Domi runs your goalie in a 4-0 game and no one drops the gloves and jumps him? That’s pathetic. I’m not expecting the Bullies and yeah it’s a different era, but if that had happened in 2010, any one of Pronger, Simmonds, Hartnell, Schenn, Lappy etc... would have gone right after the little puke.

This has nothing to do with coaching. If you need a coach to motivate you in a playoff game then you have no business playing in the NHL. Who are the heart and soul guys on this team? Who are the guys that will literally skate through a brick wall to win a hockey game? From Clarke & Ashbee to Poulin & Tocchet to Brind’amour & Podein to Roenick & Kapanen to Timonen & Briere; every successful Flyers team has had guys like that.

We’ll find out Sunday if this team does.

Do you have examples of other teams that have come back from terrible losses in the playoffs? My memory sucks. I’m serious. It might make me feel better about things if I knew other teams did it.

Most disappointing part. I'm not talking about the Domi play, I don't care about that. However not one veteran player or leader stepped up to try and turn the game around. I don't care what anyone says, the top line was average in game 1. Game 2 they were terrible. If the Flyers are going to do anything in the playoffs, Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, Hayes and Niskanen need to be a lot better.
