Subban replacing Crawford then the Hawks eliminating Lehner and the Knights would be an amazing goalie story.

Just saw that third goal Crow let up...woof. Hopefully he comes back strong tonite.

Also glad the game's on early. If the series goes on, hopefully there aren't anymore 10:30p EST starts.

Good morning hawkintheD . I believe game 1 was the only late game the rest are at reasonable times.

Here's how I would roll the forwards with the pieces available:

Saad-Toews-Kubalik
Nylander-Strome-Kane
Caggiula-Dach-Debrincat
Highmore-Kampf-Carpenter

No, it is not perfect, but this maximizes what is available right now.

First line has been producing, so do not mess with what is working.

Second line . . . 92 either needs to be scratched, or playing top six . . . he is not a guy who is going to make others better; he needs line mates who can elevate his game . . . this line has had good chemistry at times and should be given some time.

The cat needs to move back to the right side. Caggiula and Dach could open up a lot of space for Alex.

Fourth line, meh. The staff needs to play whoever will commit to the hard minutes . . . PK, blocking shots, key faceoffs . . .

That won’t help Kane get going. The only point to having Strome in the line up is if he’s with Dcat. Maybe they can get their mojo going and score some goals. Otherwise, he’s useless. He can’t even win a draw. At least when Dach loses he has the ability to get the puck back. Strome will just chase the play his entire shift.

All of the line juggling options show the Hawks are not a deep team offensively. It is easy to put 2 players onto 3 lines-- Toews/Kubalik, Dach/Kane, Strome/DCat, but after that, only Saad fills in a top 9 line. Anyone else would be considered a good addition to a 4th line for a team that is a deep, true contender, including Vegas, the Avs, Tampa, Boston, etc.

With all the proposed line juggling, sitting Nylander and Strome, no one mentions if you want Sikura in sitting Caggiula. He is one of the guys most likely to be non-tendered at the end of the playoffs, so might as well bench him if you want a look see at a Sikura (I don't know what he is going to show you that he already hasn't) and Hagel.

Check out my line combos on page 3, I sat Caggiula for Sikura.

Stan could always try to get Hossa back from ARI. Only 1 year (20-21) left on his contract @$5.3M. Surely the skin condition is cleared up by now.

At 42 next season, and without having played in a few years, he's still better that Nylander, Strome, Caggiula, Debrincat, Highmore & Carpenter.

The scary thing is if he was in hockey shape he would be better than all the above even at age 42.

I think he said in an interview during the season that he hasn't been on the ice since he "retired".

I mentioned getting Nylander out of there last blog and also Boqvist they both have had a fair taste of playoff hockey now lets give a couple others namely Carlsson and Hagel a chance .It would not be crazy to insert Gilbert in there for some toughness we are sorely lacking

So far. Was looking at ESPN and they had TBD on games 5-7. I’d like to see a game 7 so if it happens to be at 10:30p, I can live with that.

Strome is a minor leaguer and ADB no longer even gets near the opposition net where'snipers' are supposed to do their work. I would press box both of them.
- RickJ

I can't recall the hawk poster on this board's name, but basically he revered fighters and constantly wanted the hawks present team to step backward into the past and acquire more of them.

You know what?

After watching Reeves crush enough of the hawks in one freaking game, it drives me crazy his this play on more than one occasion put his tail between his legs and ran scared from John Scott.

And maybe RFA Strome fits as a trade partner to the NY RANGERS.
I also rarely suggest trades but Brendan Lemieux is also a RFA.

He fits as a guy I wish was out there in game one for us against Vegas.

No disrespect to the hawk checking line most successful Cup challengers have lots of beef there. (Contra argument against myself-> too early to get beef when we are NOT a true Cup challenger.)

Maybe we need to send the 'cat somewhere..or maybe we send Kubalik somewhere.
Go get a emerging scoring power forward...

Because to me that is what is missing.

Of course I think the needs more scoring, but if the guys who are essential to your complimentary scoring can't get inside or handle the contact they see in the playoffs, there is work to do.

True Hawks fans stayed up and watched the LA_Blackhawk game where Carol Vadnais fought Keith Magnuson three times ... there are benefits to not sleeping.

If you want to see Vegas light the lamp even more, then sure give Gilbert or Seeler a shot in exchange for the occasional big hit.

Murphy was throwing the body the other nite.

Now that the HAWKS have skated their way out of the top 15 they could look at grabbing a guy like Jake Neighbours he plays with some edge . In the up coming draft .

Ya Murphy always plays hard love that guy . Gilbert was just a idea I know he no star but might get a couple Vegas forwards attention and drop the gloves with Reves and land a lucky punch .

I’m going to go with “Who is Vandymeer23” Alex?

Either that or Wonthecup10. Speaking of, where might he be? Miss some of his epic rants. Maybe over at the-rink commiserating with a few others about how Rocky didn’t go far enough with just launching McD. Get rid of Stan and rehire Dale or some other guy whose miscues can be overlooked because he laced them up.

I’m still hopeful Reeves knocks himself out trying to launch one of our guys into tomorrow and comes away with nothing but a face full of board.

Well, we could always be the Yotes.

3-0 Avs,

40-14 shot advantage for COL.

- Chunk

And the Yotes are a helluva lot better defensively then the Hawks. So imagine that matchup....exactly why I wanted anyone BUT the Avs in the round of 16....

Trade em to the Leafs
- paulr

HAHAHAHA

I did enjoy the leafs getting bounced......again.

Whenever you feel bad about the Hawks just remember the Leafs are there to raise the bar of suckitude to a whole OTHER level.

And the Penguins lost.....that was a red letter day.

The days of them playing for the Erie Otters was the last time those 2 stiffs had chemistry. Playing them together and the ref will be fishing the puck out of Cro's net multiple times per game.

I think ABD at least gives the effort. He battles. He's just a horrid year finishing.

Strome.....I see very little compete and honestly....given the cap constraints, the emergence of Dach, why even bother with 17? Unless he's taking no where north of 1.5.....assuming more important players are signed ahead of him...Kubalik, a goalie, slotting back in Seabrook and Shaw......then just launch this turd into the sun.
