Well I'm waiting for this so called Garfs guy opinion on which hit was worse, Charas or Kadris.
Apparently only one was suspendable. |

neither do I... someone embedded a link.
I do find it hilarious how much some people are truly "fan-boys". The love for Dubas is starting to rival the devotion that certain portion of the US population jizzes for Drumpf... and there again is the cognitive limitation thing.
crazy world we live in
- BorjeFan4Ever
People get into worship mode for some reason. I want the Leafs to win, therefore I am critical and hold their feet to the fire as much as any team. same with who I vote for. These days folks just latch on to these things like a religion. |

You are so High... or never have seen Scotty play.. it's one or the other...
EK couldn't carry Scotty stick.
For my Money.. From exp on.
Orr / Robinson / Potvin / Scotty / Lidstrom / Coffey -
EK way down the list. - dozerD10
So you think all those guys were better than Bourque? what about Stevens? Pronger?
I think EK better than all the guys who were in the league at the same time as him over the last 5 seasons, and at his peak better than Niedermeyer, coffey, Potvin, Bourque Stevens, Robinson, maybe Lidstrom, but not Orr. |

here's a few randomly selected "GEMS" from day after the trade last year... so much for the theory about another year older... you really can't make this sh_t up...
Barrie as top 2 defenseman... literally every stat indicated that Barrie can't defend... and what is Dubas known for... stats?analytics?
They might be thinking Sandin takes the place of Barrie next year. If he can it would sure free up alot of cash.
- shack67
Sandin isn’t replacing Barrie next year.....
Sandin is a LD.
RD in terms of value to the Leafs it’s Barrie, Liljegren, Ceci, Holl.....
If there’s a player the Leafs can resign it should be Barrie all day.
"Santo-44" - still think they should resign #1 d-man Barrie all day?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They got worse defensively. Barrie is not close to Reilly in his own end. Reilly is above average defensively while Barrie is near the bottom of the league. Muzzin can only make up for so many of Ceci's mistakes and although Dermott is a good up and comer he isn't ringing any bells yet. Who is going to kill penalties?
What do I want? A Stanley Cup.
All this celebrating getting under the cap actually shows just how easily this fan base can be sucked in.
- aminnes
"Santo-44" - laughing at a completely reasonable opinion the Leafs defense. I guess if the Leafs won the Cup this year... Dubas would look like a genius. Keep celebrating getting under the cap.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategy. Dump it into Barrie or Ceci's corner, and hammer them and then when you get possession they won;t be able to get it back. Boston will have no issues implementing this. They need better defenders to go deep.
- aminnes
Completely false.
Barrie and Rielly are phenomenal at getting the puck out quick.
You are something else.
"Santo-44"... I agree Rielly is pretty good at getting the puck out quick.. Not sure about that other guy. So Santotard is batting 1000 a being completely ass backwards wrong - to absolutely no ones surprise.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Barrie is literally Gardiner in his own end. The best thing that happened for Reilly's career was to get the hell away from Gardiner. Barrie is a great PP guy, and a guy I like having but he needs to play with a total homer and cannot face other teams top lines.
So then the question is, who faces the top lines? Ceci? Poor Muzzin on that one. Who is killing penalties? Ottawa tried that with Ceci. Huge pressure on Reilly now to save the day defensively.
- aminnes
I can’t
Once again - you guessed it "Santo-44"... mocking Aminnes completely accurate forecast. Congrats Santo... still batting 1000
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I said - and it's nice to see a brain rather than name calling - the trade in principle is good. However if they don;'t get more defensive type help what was the point. It becomes lateral at that point.
- aminnes
Between the two of them, Barrie is a much more effective transition player and brings even more offensive prowess than Gardiner. But for those fans who grew frustrated with Gardiner’s decision making in the defensive zone and risky play with the puck, buckle in because Barrie is about to take you on a wild ride. Gardiner’s defensive impact has been much stronger than Barrie’s over the past few seasons, and in fact Barrie’s defensive impact is around the 44th percentile in the NHL, while Gardiner’s is 56th, so that part is a downgrade.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/...etter-team-trading-kadri/
someone posted what TSN said about the "stats"... that Gardiner is quite a bit better defensively than Barrie... soooooooooooo... we'll just let you injest that for a bit
---------------------
and before you attempt reverse troll about me spending my lunch glancing back through last year's drivel... I'm and exec at health insurance provider in the US.. and simply decided I'd take it easy this afternoon.
so thanks for the invite to go do that - you are a beauty Santo-44 - this provided a nice fun distraction amidst these weird days.
always hilarious to have your opinion supported - that indeed half the population (or more) are morons.
- BorjeFan4Ever
Yup I was way wrong about Barrie, he sucked for this team. Was very very good for Colorado.
I can admit when I was wrong about something.
Time for you and anime to do the same.(I know you guys never will because you never have)
Or is the only explanation for when someone disagrees about Dubas “they must be worshiping him like a religion.”? |

Lidstrom >>> All. - AdamFrench
Nah... for me there is a very big Chasm between Orr / Larry / Potvin and the rest. Lindstrom...
You think Lindstrom is fighting and kicking the crap out of Schultz ??? and calling for Dupont next ??

His name is Lidstrom and if he wasn't on the Detroilet Dead Things, Yzerman would be known as the biggest loser in NHL history.

I do...
Coffey once had 48 goals and 138 pts... along with multiple 100 and 90 pt years. Even with no goalie that's completely insane..
Robinison was the backbone of Great Habs teams... Potvin what can you say ..unreal.. Scotty... yep ...
all better than those guys you mentioned..
Ek is nice but no way he survives in those years as a D man .. no way. He'd been a F. |

Chara punched JT TWICE, one is clearly visible, but he gave a short punch to the head as well... after that i knew it was over for the leaf.
no one was available to punch him straight to the face back... |

What was your take on his play on the 2nd goal of game 5? - TheMussel
My first thought was why did Holl change? Second thought was; what the poop Marincin?! My 3rd thought was Freddy needs to not let that in. And my 4th thought was; why were Holl and Marincin on the ice at the same time? |

While I have great respect for Chara's overall career, I always thought he had a dirty streak and somebody needs to lay his big muldoon arse out. The problem is, he's 3 meters tall and nobody can reach his face. Somebody needs to gut punch the poop out of him until he doubles-over, then clock him in the head when he's within reach.
Unless Rask poops the bed, the Bruins win this series. Carolina's goaltending is weak and that's easily their achilles' heel.

It's a pretty famous brawl... Robinson and Schultz and cops on the ice to get the photogs off ... It was madness.
Robinson smoked Schultz and pointed right at dupont said you ass is next. |

Some points from him ...
wants more "compete" ...
long ways to go defensively ...
likes the talent and personnel of the group ...still trying to decide whether they can mature and find the necessary "compete"
contracts are flexible ...moveable ...not prohibitive. Appeal to other teams ...
Lehtonen and Barabanov believes both will come into the group to add flexibility

Also avoided the “does Freddy fit next year with the group?”
Said him and Hyman might not both fit with the flat cap.
Kind of interesting he didn’t back Freddy up like he has Marner, tells me that there is no way Marner is getting traded. |

Maybe that's just to keep Marner's value up before he gets shipped out... |
