That's okay, I'm right of center so I'm a racist. I'm with you on the extremes.
- mohel

Just for the record - I never called anyone a racist (except, perhaps, Trump - I don’t even remember my original post anymore) - I never made any personally derogatory comments about anyone, other than calling Spanky ignorant (I never called him an anti-Semite - just that he made an anti-Semitic comment).

This division and segregation is the #1 issue with the human race. Constantly looking for ways in which we are different. Race, sex, religion, and today’s most common theme...political party. Either you’re left or your right and you get labeled with such ridiculous extremes. As if there is no in between, no grey area. The reality is that there ARE similarities, there is a common ground to be found, no matter how separated 2 sides/people might seem at first. It’s when you go out of your way to look for these similarities that you truly find happiness/resolve. The day the human race takes a step in the right direction will be the day people start to look for the similarities among one another instead of the differences.

Also for the record....I responded to you because I respect you and your opinion. If I didn't, I would have responded as I did to Edzo.

Tyler, I will not be quiet when confronted by personal attacks such as the above - especially those putting forth anti-Semitic tropes. If Spanky doesn’t understand that referring to George Sonos as “staging and sponsoring” movements like the current is THE anti-Semitic meme of the 21st century, then in his ignorance, he needs to keep HIS mouth shut until he learns about it.

On our country’s birthday, our President compared people like me to the Nazis and fascists that were defeated by ALL AMERICANS. I am not among the “ the radical left, the Marxists, the anarchists, the agitators, the looters, and people who in many instances have absolutely no clue what they are doing“ - he made no distinction between any of us who oppose him and the few (THE VERY FEW) who destroyed. I am his enemy, and therefore America’s enemy.

Tyler, enough already. I stayed quiet after your request - others haven’t - I will respond.

Spanky, keep your ignorant mouth shut.

- StLBravesFan

If anybody should keep their ignorant mouth shut...it is you! You seem to enjoy getting everybody stirred up because of your political comments. You than cry “Wolf “ and cry to Tyler that people are making nasty comments about you. You want to dish it out without being challenged by your radical comments. You are the worst offender of trying to put your political views on this site. It is you that should be suspended.

Even if Askarov is still available at 9th/10th - I still wouldn't pick him because assessing goalies are more of a crap shoot than picking a position player, not to mention the 'Russian factor'. It seems this draft is deep enough through the 10th/11th pick to get a tier-2 level talent and that should be the priority. If the Hawks win the play-in series and select 16th/17th or later - then I would be OK with selecting Askarov - if he's still available, which is probably doubtful at that point.

the problem is most of us what is best for the whole country. The extemes.want was is best for them. It's natural for people to have a difference of opinion as to what is best. It's the labeling that is distracting from any common ground

Yes it would be a risk and a risk I would be fine with taking. I believe Askarov if available at 9 or 10 will have the highest ceiling of any player still left on the board . The chance to get a future superstar is worth the risk . Sometimes you have to roll the dice to win big .!!

also...and win line with then before...once the persons in Congress and power work together as they did in the 1950's and 60's even the divisive 70o's to pass stuff that helps the people not specifically special interests and corporations, we all win.

Political compromise is what always (post World War Two) advanced the country and benefitted the wide spectrum.

And of course the fact that some many other countries can produce things the US solely produced before means has drastically changed the outcomes of what was the post war crime economy where the owners could and WOULD share at least in the harvest, and that too has changed.

But to draw lines in the sand and spout a political line and refuse to cross over hasn't helped the people think that congress and the federal government has built a wall around themselves and we are on the outside.
This didn't come from factions on the "sides" of the political views as much as that elected middle choosing a path of seeing their survival as the goal, not getting the country, the infrastructure, the huge gambit of problems solved, and until their is a way to legislate sanity we are cooked as a place that stood for so many things that our leadership(s) are not truly interested in, only using to father their nests...

The idea to back off from drafting 18 yr old goalies early and mid first round is noted, but to try and say Askarov is "just" a goalie prospect like the rest truly undersells his quickness and over all abilities.

I wouldn't be surprised he goes before slot ten, or is taken by a team with multiple picks despite the 'Russian problem."

Yeah, if you are a team not worried about your forward pool needing game breakers or think they are gone when you pick, you take him, over that second wave of big defenders. but get him over here...asap.

My quest in Florida for Chicago Beef at home was bolstered by being able to join Restaurant Depot, do to the non profit volunteering I do, and they had different Chicago Beef packets that were larger amnutrs than the smaller Ditka Beef that Gordon Foods sells. They have various names and have Beef in spices, but a separate jar of juice.

The Buona Beef is much larger and what I use when I am serving many.

Buona Beef is a good fast food version too.

I was spoiled. Did my undergrad at UIC. The original Al's was just a couple of blocks west of campus. Outstanding. And there is an Italian ice place across the street from Al's that is freakishly good.

Mario’s, on Taylor.

I’ve found that I like the Philly Cheese Steaks at Montis (Talman and Lawrence) better than any of the Italian Beefs.

and Fontanna's narthex Vernon Tap too.
(Joey"soups" the owner of VernonTap sat near main the Stadium.)

Growing up (if I actually have) we always thought that our Al's hot dogs just east of Eckhart park on Chicago Ave. before the new Kennedy expressway was the "original Al's"

That's a problem. To me the problem is we only have two parties and most of us don't fit so neatly into a box where either really represents the majority of us.

A lot of people seem to identify with one side or the other so heavily where it's like rooting for your favorite sports team and whatever your team espouses is right...JMO.

Have heard of Monti's but never been. Johnnie's (Elmwood Park or Arlington Hts) is still the best no matter what Elbows says...or among the best. Al's is good too.

For dogs I still like Portillo's though Hot Doug's was excellent when that was still around.
