I could see adams being safe and just drafting Lundell and that just shows me he is going to be nothing as a GM

I meant with the extra pick from trading Risto. I hope he doesn’t take Lundell at #8. But I’m not opposed if we swing a Risto trade like NYI did with Reinhart

I mean, who doesn't. But I'm not picking Caufield over Cozens.
- TheSabresTaco

If the draft goes like it’s supposed to (Rossi is not there anymore)...
seems like everyone wants either Holtz or Lundell

I’m just wondering why a guy who had 52goals in 62games isn’t being mentioned at all as a possible choice for us?

He's a good player but he feels like a Samuelsson pick. Low ceiling, safe bet. It's a wussy pick that gets orgs nowhere.

I mean, he's definitely more talented, but the low ceiling safe pick is not how to make you a better org.

If I have Perfetti, Holtz and Lundell to pick from, I'd go Perfetti all day. Doubt that's a scenario. I know a lot of people like Lundell to be the safe guy, but he really feels like a Lawson Crouse pick. Like, you know he'll play in the NHL, but can the guy actually put up points.
- TheSabresTaco

Points are not everything. He can grow that part of his game. Wingers are easy to draft & find later in the draft. Sabres need stability to keep from the lows of slumps.

They're a lot when you're picking a forward in the top 10.

Having a guy like him at 21 years old right now would be pretty great. But at 10, why aren't you going BPA.

I really don't agree with this, the kid has been playing in a men's league for 2yrs already and produced. He would make are C position pretty strong
Eichel
Cozens
Lundell
Sounds pretty good, know use your other chips to secure some decent wingers.

As for Quinn, he's almost a year older than his peers, and missed the cutoff for last years draft by very little, a year in which is production wasn't very good.

I don't know, just my opinion, but if you can get a good 2RW, that can dish the puck and pop in 20 goals is just as good for Skinner as a good 2C. I mean get a decent stop gap 2C to put into the middle for a year and go from there, Haula might be good enough for a year if you can find that good 2RW.

Risto for Horvat, an amazing deal, the best deal, you're an idiot and SAD if you don't accept

Cozens, Mittelstadt
And I’m assuming Rossi is gone

- jdfitz77

Mittelstadt is looking like a project. Wouldn’t rush him. Needs to learn to be a pro.

I get that, but if they think Holtz or Raymond is BPA at 8, then that's who you take assuming they are there.
- Michael Ghofrani

Raymond at 8 a steal imo but won’t be there my guess.

Sanderson & Quinn both move up the list fast. No hockey played in awhile makes me think not going as high as some think. Good picks later in the draft for someone.

At 8 BPA has about 3-5 to choose from.

You don’t have to include Mitts, kid is soft as charmin, he won’t be anything special

A stop gap 2C? Lol

You want a C that can be an impact on some level. Worry about scoring once the roster is deeper in top 9.

Like the Lindholm trade that you posted 39, wonder if Risto has that much value to pull it off.
- Buff36

I don't think he does, especially with the value that is Lindholm's contract compared to his production.

it's admittedly closer than i thought, but I like the talent at 5 better from that list. Im also not a huge fan of Werenski and Ristolainen so that plays into it.

Holtz- Jan23, 2002
Lundell- Oct3, 2001
Quinn- Sep19, 2001
Lafreniere- Oct11, 2001

Seems pretty close in age to the guys we are talking about picking
And i threw Lafreniere in there for good measure

Well it would be deeper, cause you would be getting more scoring from your 2nd line, and gives Cozens a chance to play 3C with Kahun and Mojo and hopefully some production out of your 3rd line.

Holtz is a few months younger playing a pro league at 17/18. Hard to compare totals there

Lundell, Lafreniere and Rossi are around the same age, yes. but again, lundell is playing pro, lafreniere last year crushed quinn's numbers, ditto Rossi.

Rossi makes a good comparison here because its the same league and similar birth dates but his D-1 year was a good season overall. This tends to be a strong indicator of future success.

Wasn’t comparing his numbers to Holtz or Lundell
Just the age

Yes, i understand he didn’t have a great year1 in the OHL
But he grew enough in year2 that he’s rated just outside the top10 pretty much everywhere i look

Is it really a stretch to take him 8th?
I’m not even saying definitely do it
Just that he should be part of the discussion
