It is and it isn't. I think the good quarterbacks will be well north of $40 million per year at least halfway through that contract. Jared Goff was tied for the 3rd or 4th highest paid QB at 33.5 million before that contract.

Top-2 linemates from Dobber:

Backlund--Tkachuk, Mangiapane (30.31%)...Monahan, Gaudreau (14.64)
Monahan--Gaudreau, Lindholm (41.42)...Backlund, Gaudreau (14.29)
Bennett--Mark Jankowski, Tobias Reider (12.24)...Lucic, Derek Ryan (11.44)
Frolik--Backlund, Tkachuk (19.26)...Jankowski, Reider (16.63)

I have no problem trading for Backlund, but he has a ntc, and the question is, would he wave to come to buffalo...he's also 31 yrs. old and on a $5.3M cap-hit that takes him into his mid-30's

for all the hate bennett gets, his advanced stats aren't all that bad...he generates chances with sub-par linemates but has had trouble finishing...

i'll still own that trade

- Michael Pachla

Don’t these stats make Frolik out to look not so bad ?

What I would do would be the following (listing the core of each trade):

Ristolainen to Winnipeg for Copp
Montour to Toronto for Kerfoot and Johnsson

I ask my bills friends this all the time....Why didnt you keep Gilmore and draft Mahomes?

Somehow they believe White and Allen is a better combo. smh

Yes. They make Monahan look bad and make Backlund the player many believe him to be.

I think Bennett comes out a little better than many thought. Kid has the skill and desire, but can't seem to finish

McDermott first draft, Beane wasn't even hired yet, still had Whaley who was let go right after the draft. Mahomes wasn't really picked to go that high, it was a great move by KC.

They could have went with Watson then, who was picked to go that high. Big blunder.

Not saying it wasn’t, but they got a All-Pro and a MLB and QB that hopefully turns into the man.

Depending on what Rhino is looking for contract wise, either flip him for more assets or Rhino, Tuch, Smith is a pretty good RW group.
- Buff36

Sam for Henrique & pick6

Sabres maybe need to add something to get it done

Will Smith sign here though?
Not counting on it

Your posting has been excellent btw recently 👍

Much like the Sabres, the Bill's have an issue keeping good players. We had the 17 year playoff draught. terrible coaching and good ol western ny weather.

Gilmore wanted out, or wanted in to the patriots.
Free agency comes quick in the nfl

Definitely could have drafted mahomes at 10, but I think the Bill's were "tanking" for a qb, the following year.

We ended up 9-7 and had to negotiate our way up to pick ja17.

At least tre white is a top corner.......

Glad we didnt trade a couple picks to move up 1 spot and draft mitch trabinski...

Also,
what did those numbers look like 2 seasons ago?

I’m assuming Monahan’s numbers would be much better

Backlund’s scoring totals have been roughly the same the past 5 seasons
I’d like to see how his numbers have fluctuated over that time span

Who knows fitz, hopefully the Sabres can get a few to sign. I guess that will be one of the big ? in the offseason.

Maybe if we can pull off a trade for Bonino,
that would help in getting Smith?
They are linemates after all
