Detroit going with another RD wouldn't make as much sense with Seider and Hronek in the picture already. Their C depth isn't exactly outstanding; Rossi or Perfetti might look REAL good there, too.

Other than for Ottawa getting 1st overall, nobody really knows who is the better pick between Stutzle and Byfield.

Same thing at 4 and 5.

I was mad that Dorion took Tkachuk at 4. Imagine how Montreal feels about how they used the 3 pick in that draft.

Byfield and Rossi would be my A+ result based on the 3 and 5.

I was hoping that Doug Wilson getting selected into the HHOF after 20+ years was an omen that we would get the #1 overall with the San Jose pick. Not to be.
While a little disappointing, getting #3 and #5 is still a very solid outcome. Certainly helps make up for losing the #4 overall pick to Colorado last year.
The scouting staff have done a great job the last 3 years so I'm hopeful that we will get the elite talent to make us very competitive in 3+ years.

yup, from what i can see on twitter, and many message boards this is a total and complete PR disaster for the NHL, some calling on bettman to resign, some to re-do the draft without the placeholder team, this will end up hurting the NHL big time.

I suppose as long as its not n.y.i to win #1 . All is well in sens land. That would hurt.

But its likely going to be a team that is already stacked.
