Todd are we going to get a run down of your thoughts on players in the draft, now that the lotto is 2 weeks away.

I'll dive more into it once the lottery actually happens.

No point on commenting on my favorite targets for 6 or, say, 10 if they might be picking 1 or 2. Easier to zero in on a couple guys once we know where they're picking.

So this is what they meant by “Anything can happen in Jersey”....

What a complete goat (frank).

This organization is an embarrassment.

Hiring a GM, Head Coach and having a plan are pretty basic team operations.

Just remember ownership said they fired Ray Ray because they wanted to win in the near term but have done NOTHING to make that a reality. They have reduced payroll to the smallest in the league and what a complete train wreck we’d be if we hadn’t won the lottery TWICE!

If you're in your 20s-30s.. we were so spoiled growing up. It's been a ride the last several years, but we've only looked more and more half-brained since the dodo birds took over.

At least we picked a good time to stink.. have won a few lottos so we have generational talent to build with. oh wait. We won in 2 of the weakest top tier talents in year? BOTH times we won?? well then.

With our luck we will win it again only for Lafrenière to be the biggest bust since Patrik Stefan

I keep thinking that if we won again the rest of the league would lose it...I so want it to happen. But imagine we get #2, drafting Byfield would be an abundance of riches.....or trade down scenarios. I just want Devil's hockey back., will settle for this playoff scenario.

Lavy is a nice coach for young players. I’d hate to see him in Jersey, Yknow, since you’re a rival and all. Still, he can get a team full of kids rollin along. His issue seems to be that he loses their ear after a few seasons.

But he may get that team up to snuff over his tenure there.

No, Fitzy isn’t the GM. He’s still the interim GM. AND that IS the point. You’d think ownership could pull off a move that only requires the removal of the word ‘interim’ but so far they haven’t done dookie.

The worst part is I don't see how this gets any better any time soon.

You're right, the franchise is in absolute disarray and it starts with ownership. However, instead of ownership rolling up their sleeves and showing any type of determination to turn this thing around they are showing interest in purchasing the Mets!

If that actually does happen, the Devil's will be an afterthought and sadly the team will continue it's downward spiral as a result.

The sun is kind of warm.

Just think: you could be the Sabres. They have an ownership and management group that has done whatever they can to win, and they're still inept.

Yeah, but we don't know. Maybe they are hesitant to remove the interim tag because they are bringing in someone above the GM or maybe not. But whatever the case is they should be able to make some progress.

Very true Todd. The stability appears weak. Let's not forget that Nas had success behind the bench, and Fitz made A+ trades at the deadline. I would be happy to see Fitz get the fulltime GM role, as he has done well in every position up to this point. Ideally, we get a coach with experience like Lav who can be a great mentor for Nas should the time come. Regardless, since both interim's entered the scene, we have accumulated a plethora of prospects and draft picks while improving our play at both ends of the ice.

Man what a disaster!!!! Okposo and Skinner combining for 15M AAV, 111 games played, 23 Goals, 19 Assists........ Pretty sure Miles Wood could do that with 4th line minutes in 82 games..... They have some amazing players but Okposo and Skinner are terrible 2 way players who decided to quit trying. They are on the books for another 3 seasons after this, and Dahlin is only cheap for one more season. They are in serious trouble unless they can get some NHL ready entry-level contracts to contribute.

I miss him. He cared about the team and wanted to win. All team owners should, but here we are.

BTW, Jeff Vanderbeek is killing it coaching High School Football:

Well we won't see the Devils on the ice again to Q1 of 2021, so there is plenty of time to figure stuff out. This friggin pandemic has been a royal pain in the ass, but nothing about it irks me more than what it is doing to hockey.

Hate to say it, but aren’t you already? They also own the 76ers, and have no problem spending and making moves for them to improve since their obvious tanking spree ended a few years ago.

Maybe that’s what this is. The “process.” I see you are skeptical to trust it.

Can’t say I blame you.

But hey, if you’re willing to do it right, embrace it, and need a new GM, I think Sam Hinkie is still out there.
