Carol Schram: The Canucks' experience matches up well against play-in opponent Minnesota The Vancouver Canucks may be led by young stars who are short on NHL playoff experienced, but they're surrounded by veterans with Cup rings, and they've had plenty of success at other levels.

Good read Carol...I think there's enough of a blend between the young and experienced veterans to get them (Canucks) through, but it won't be easy as I'm of the belief the experience of the playoffs for their veteran team will bode well for them (Minnesota).

One other note that I just saw posted:

They've decided that the four main playoff rounds will be best-of-seven. And there will be re-seeding after EVERY round. That's big!

Thanks Carol but I'm afraid this thread will slide into the same bullpoop, sorry your fine work will be lost on most.

Thanks Carol, I agree, NHL playoff experience is largely over rated. Pettersson is intense enough to overcome the new set of rules that inevitably occur in the playoffs.

Congrats Lefty in making it into the blog, if in spirit rather than by name anyway.

Ever calm, ever consistent, ever reliable. Guillaume Brisebois is this year's Eric Weinrich Award winner as the team's best defenseman.

Guillaume Brisebois earns Comets' Best Defenseman honor for 2nd time in as many seasons.

He was arguably Comets' most consistent player on blue line this season. He played with a lot of confidence this year and helped Brogan Rafferty.
Brisebois had 15 pts, career-best 4 goals.

I remember Horvat being one of the better Canucks in the series against Calgary he seemed to elevate his play-which I think means he gets it. Your skill doesn't change in the playoffs, your intensity has to jump up several levels. I think he may be a guy who just loves the added pressure, I may be glossing over the season but I feel like he did great with tough assignments.

thx very much Carol.

Great blog. More PO experience would be nice as I feel we won't beat Minny. But one never knows Hughes and Marky could be a force out there.

Personally I think this could be some special Hockey to watch once things get rolling. 2020 could be a great year to remember.

Let's get going!

Wow, back to 8vs1?! This is pretty interesting news, could be really good for us if there are a few upsets in the west.

They are pretty sure they can identify the truck.
The mayor said if the RCMP can't identify the truck someone on the Facebook will.
Those d!cks are going to have to sit face to face with the people they hurt so much.

If they can score, were in trouble. I honestly think this could go 3-0 for us though, weak team offensively. Best case scenario is Marky comes back hot like he was almost all year. I don’t think experience is too much of an issue and they have some serious question marks in net, i like our chances!

If Minnesota's coach knows how to play lockdown hockey the Canucks are in trouble, they're poor defensively and if they can't score, the Canucks, it'll be three and out.

I agree. I get building rivalries and whatever, but it would be may more interesting to see leafs/bruins in a later series. Also with weaker conferences, it makes the semifinals less interesting.

That’s best case scenario for them, yes. I think we’re a much better scoring team. They are better defensively. But i think our goalie is significantly better. Marky could easily steal a game or two. Not so sure i would say that about stalock or dubnyk.

Those two could probably handle being third pair at this point
