Damn, missed out!

Nick Ehlers is the best. But Connor H. should win the Hart and Vezina. The end.

I hope Scheifele returns to the playoff form of 2 seasons ago when he was unreal.

Dont get me wrong, we love Nic Ehlers but he is not the best on the Jets. Scheifele is the man, followed closely by Hellebuyck.

Scheifele for sure. Helle could be considered a close second, at least this season.

Finally, some sort of Jets blog we Jets fans can throw out a post or two. I, of course, miss hockey dearly both as a fan but also as a player 3x a week. Its truly a different world now and likely might be so for as much as several years. It begs the question that I have not seen asked. What happens to the contracts of upcoming free agents and even promising RFA's ? They will most certainly drop due to lack of fans as well as serious financial constrains the NHL teams are facing and will continue to face .

Its bad luck for guys like Taylor Hall who will now get nowhere near what he was looking for as a UFA. What about Patrik Laine ? He may have gambled on himself but the fact is that what might have been a $9-$10 MM contract might only be a $7 MM contract (if that) in a world in which pandemics or a continuing pandemic are now factors. Will long term contracts be too much of a gamble?

While it appears Buff turned out to accidentally be the wise fox , it also left the Jets as a relatively low cap team right now . Its much harder hit for teams who are at or over the cap max . That gives the Jets some interesting flexibility going forward. Thanks BUFF !

Its also entirely possible that the NHL in agreement with the NHLPA may have to agree to an across the board salary cut for all players of at least 25% to maintain financial viablity. You can and will see this in many leagues as things move forward.

Morrissey was roooough this year. I’m convinced he was hurt, and he did start to trend up before the season got oof’d, but he wasn’t good at all this season. Next season is the bounce back

I agree that its great to have something here about the Jets. The Jets favorable cap condition and the future of contracts not continuing to rise will hurt how much Laine and others will expect on his next contract. Its a brand new world for the NHL, players and fans.

I can't believe that there is something about the Jets on hockeybuzz.

I miss Peter Tessier.

Not too sure about other leagues. The NHL does have escrow and as such NHL players will take a pay cut.
