I think which ever team can find there legs first is going to win this series, that goes for every team in the first round.

I think the Islanders caught a break by having the season stopped. There play was inconsistent since the winning streak ended. They might have benefited from time off, and another training camp.

However, A training camp and two pre season games is not enough time to get "playoff" ready. Especially after 4 months off. It will be interesting to see how every team, not just the islanders , look coming out of the gate

Camps won't open till after July 1st. So I'd guess probably mid-July at a hub city yet TBA.

Lamoriello says construction at Belmont arena resumed today. Says construction was ahead of schedule when it was shut down, so he's confident the arena will be completed on time.

still think the way the NHL is doing this is absurd. should have just had every team come back and play till all were even in games played. Then do the normal playoffs. This 24 team nonsense is absurd. Makes the season games worth less, punished teams that played less games. How do you give out awards this year? Can you give someone a Calder, Art Ross, Vezina, etc. when some guys have played more games than other guys? Whole thing is just absurd to me.

It also points to why it's beyond absurd having some teams constantly have 3, 4 and sometimes 5 games played less than other teams.

As far as I can tell....they can absolutely sign right now for the 2020/21 season, but as of now they can't play during 2019/20. Daly said it's not out of the question that maybe they let guys "sign" for the 2019/20 season but not be allowed to play, which would allow Sorokin to effectively burn his 1-year ELC and then be an RFA and make more money on next year's deal.

But if they don't let the players sign OR play for the 2019/20 season then we could potentially have a problem on our hands.

You realize the Islanders were highly likely to miss the playoffs if they were to play the 3 more games to catch up the to teams with the most (71) games played right?

As far as the individual awards go...who cares. Award them to a chimp for all I care.

Teams are always going to have non-equal amounts of games played during the course of the season. Scheduling travel to comply with CBA-mandated days off as well as the one bye-week per year is never going to allow for teams to have equal, or almost-equal, numbers of games played at varying points in the season. It's flat-out impossible.

I don't agree that they were "highly likely" to miss the playoffs. They will have Casey, Pelech, and even Cal back healthy. I liked our chances..

if they are not going to play well then they are not going to do well in the 24 team playoff either.

I like everyone else would really like to watch some hockey but I think they should’ve just tanked the season and started it in October if all was clear. I guess they could shrink the off-season in consecutive years to get the season back to a normal time frame again but I just think this is going to be kind of half arsed imo.

I read the NBA is losing out on 900 million if they have to cancel the season. Idk what the NHL numbers are but that's alot to lose..

I'm also in the camp of cancel the season. I think its dumb that Montreal has a shot at the cup.

Maybe league will fix schedule so that some teams dont have 4-5 games played more than other teams
