Its time to go in a different direction with Martin and 4th line, as they all are getting older but also much more injury-proned as well. Plus too expensive for a 4th line now that other players need to get extended

I’ll just assume mdw’s vote was to bring Martin back.

I would bring him back on a team friendly deal with an understanding that his role would be reduced.

No, I wouldn't waste a roster spot. He really does little that can't be done by Ross The Boss, and Ross does it better.

Agreed, Clutterbuck is a contract that the team will probably need to try to shed and while Cizikas is a great fit who's able to move up the lineup, I don't know that he can be extended past next season.

Number wise I do not necessarily think Ross is better, however I will give you that he is younger and skates better (not much). I know Martin had a rough year. I still think if you can get him for less he is a good backup. If he wants more than what he is making now than I would have to concede and let him go. I just feel he is a good character guy and gets this organization.

Komarov can’t take the job till his current contract expires.

It’s gonna be awhile.

Truthfully though, would Martin’s PP be any less effective that the Islanders current PP?

As you can see, I’m currently at the “throw poop at wall and hope something sticks” stage of fan frustration.
