Minor league update:

The Hogs have signed Dach's former Saskatoon teammate Riley McKay to a one-year AHL deal. McKay was an invitee to play for Chicago in the Traverse City tourney last summer.

McKay is a physical forward who racks up the PIMs playing a physical style. Not a big player but tough as nails.

Nothing more than providing Rockford with forward depth and toughness as a bottom 6 forward, likely 4th line.

While this is minor, like this move a lot. IceHogs could use some more toughness.

McKay and Dach are also close. So nice to have him around the team and up the road in Rockford.

I actually like the move, too. The Rockford forward ranks need more toughness. Next season is shaping up to have McKay along with Johnson, Moutrey, Entwistle, and Barratt.

A line with Johnson centering Moutrey and McKay would be a handful and pain in the butt to play against. Moutrey is an unsung hero for the Hogs. Will likely not make it to the NHL but love the heavy style he plays in all zones.

Great news on Teply. I can see him being a boom or bust prospect. He'll either develop as an impact scoring forward or flop massively going the way of McNeill, Knott, Iacopelli, etc.
