Pure gold is right

Great video! Probert’s lettuce and shirt combo are fantastic. There’s an old Devils VHS that has a section that goes into the Crowder stuff. Wild fights.

Funny how hockey always has those guys that up-and-comers want to come in a de-throne. I think it’s in the Ice Guardians documentary where a guy (Terry O’Reilly maybe?) talks about being young and eager to get into the NHL and prove himself. Then when he got there, the sobering reality that the guys around him and ones he needed to fight were legit men and not kids in junior anymore. Haha.

Old man strength is real!

I watched the Probert documentary last night after reading your post. I had a similar reaction to you. I think it was a missed opportunity not to go into how fantastic he was during the '88 playoffs and how his addictions still couldn't be controlled during the most important series (the conference finals against the Oilers) of his life. The director glossed over that.

Aside:The interviews with Stu Grimson were great. It still trips me out that Stu Grimson is so articulate. He looks like a low-level Bond villain.

Old man strength is def a real thing!

You nailed it on the Grimson look. Haha. So accurate. His and Chelios’ parts were my favorite and I wanted more of that kind of insight.

Ludvig looks promising. I heard he was more of a defensive defenseman, and plays with an edge, of which FL definitely needs more. He got significant PP time this year and his offensive numbers really jumped up. Gildon is leaving UNH after signing his elc w/FL, he had a good season, too. They signed another dman from NCAA, an undrafted kid, whose name escapes me right now, that wound up as a Hobey Baker award finalist.
Seems to be some promise in the defense pipeline. It will be interesting to see how they look at next season's training camp, whenever that may be.
