Washington has a real weak schedule from here on out. Detroit and buffalo 2x each. It’ll be tough

There are lots of upsets, especially this time of year. Ask the Bruins -- who have lost twice to Detroit this season -- if that's an automatic W. Look at it this way: every time the Red Wings win, it's an upset. They'll pulled off 16 of them this season.

teams will have off games, for good teams I don't think it is a bad thing, done right good teams will use the games to be better

It was far from their A game, probably not even a strong B game. But in the end, Hart stepped up and they got 2 points.

That won't cut it against upper-echelon teams, but last night wasn't indicative of how they've played lately. Looking forward to them stepping up.

Wow the next 5 games, in 8 nights against very elite teams are going to test them. At least 4/5 are at home. If they get 6 points I think that would be pretty ok.

It will be interesting seeing how they do and how AV plays the goalies. Maybe Hart gets 4 games and Elliot one of the games that are back to back?

I tell you guys I’m freaking a bit about the virus. If just one nhl player gets it, are they going to quarantine all their contacts? The quarantine is typically 14 days. This has potential to be very disruptive.

I still think it's overblown, but if it comes to personal health vs. sports, it's a no-brainer.

Agreed about the virus, this could be a serious disruption. This season may go down as an asterisk in the history books where no cup is played for or depleted teams duke it out and the winner has a Sib note next to their names.

Was wondering as I watched last nights game about Wayne Simmonds....not a very good year for him and I wondered what his future looks like ? Is he on his way out ? Did the Flyers only offer a one year deal before he was dealt or did Simmonds turn something else down? I can’t think his next deal touches the 5 mil he’s making this year. Is there anything left in the tank ?

Sometimes your goalie needs to be the best player on the ice to get a “W”....last night he was, and it wasn’t close.

It really could lead to some extreme measures....the next few weeks will be very telling.

Which means we could be upset. We didn’t play our best last night.

Would it be the Flyers luck? They finally go into the playoffs as one of the favorites. Playoffs get cancelled this year due to virus.

Things did not go well at all in Bingo for the Phantoms...

I went to school in Bingo at SUNY, and my freshman year I went to the very first game in the Binghamton Rangers' history against the Flyers long-time farm club, the Hershey Bears. One of the Rangers' players in that game was a 25-year old defenseman named Peter Laviolette.

During an intermission, wearing my Mark Howe Flyers jersey, I got within 10 feet of Neil Smith, the NY Rangers' GM at the time... but that's another story.

This is amusing that so many of you are scared of the common cold 🤣🤣
Keep feeding the fear and hype. That's what they want you to do. Agenda 21 in full effect at the moment

China is a fully vaccinated country with RFID chips implanted in them already.
The only people that have to fear the coronavirus (AKA the cold) are immunocompromised folks and the elderly.
The same demographic of people that are susceptible to the flu

Also worth noting is that 5G rolled out in wuhan right before the outbreak. Coincidences
But with the flyers playing like this its inevitable that the season gets cancelled bc Philadelphia flyers

Patient #1 in Italy is a 38 yr old marathon runner, requiring ICU care. But sure, a novel virus that humans have no prior exposure to and no immunity to is just the common cold or not as bad as the flu.

Excellent read as usual Mr. Meltzer, thank you. I love the way Carter Hart is playing as he gives us the chance to win every game. This is the best stretch of hockey in years and the future is very bright. It all starts with a real coach behind the bench, solid in goal and a complete competitive roster. We have always had a good top six but now the bottom six is rock solid making this a complete team. I look forward to every Flyer game but I have the attitude now of who we gonna beat next, lol. As for this virus I can't help but be worried, just watched W5 on Wuhan and too many comments about this being nothing by many is kinda alarming to me. Hoping I am really wrong!

Just saw that the Flyers are now something like 10-0-1 when tied after two periods. That's crazy good. It means the other team only has 2 periods to beat us, while we have 3 to beat them.

These stats are not alarming but lets have a look at the stats in China where 11 million people have been infected in a very short time. I sincerely hope you are right but if this ever gets out of control in our country there is no reason to believe the same thing won't happen here.
