Well well well... here we are again... fringe playoff team trying to build for the future only to have the pesky post season buzzing around our heads like a nagging black fly... Swatting it away does nothing but attract more...

By the looks of this squad right now, they appear like they are going to make the post season an inevitable probability. They are playing arguably their best hockey of the season and are not only winning, they are scoring at high rate.

The new line combos and the addition of Galchenyuk have lit a fire under these guys... Koivu comes alive?!!! All of a sudden he's looking like he's found the fountain of youth and owning his opponents. Fiala as well, all of a sudden he's that "game changer" type player that Fenton sold us on.

All of a sudden this team looks as deep as it ever has, all lines scoring and making a difference.

So i'm not going to continue to build them up only to witness their inevitable melt down, but i'm going to watch with enjoyment as we DO witness what will most likely be the last month or so of this squad as we've known it for quite sometime...

Ah Gump. Do enjoy this last 20 games or so and most likely a playoff run, regardless of how long it lasts. You mentioned how well Fiala is playing and the scoring depth. Get in and enjoy the ride. Certainly Tampa had more plans before running into Columbus last year. I don't know that Philly in 2008 really felt they had a team that would make it to the Cup after getting in on the last day of the season. At least there is hope and excitement which is more than can be said for some other teams.
