Tyler Cameron: Hawks win and Kubalik is pretty awesome at hockey The Blackhawks won a game… and what a game!

After allowing 4 x 3rd-period goals vs. the St. Louis last game, the Blackhawks thought they would give their best Blues impression with 5 goals in the final frame on Thursday night.

Also, is Jeremy Colliton reading my blogs? I'm honoured you're taking my advice Coach JC.

JC needs to read your advice. These coaches are less than perceptive about players ' strengths. Even in an interview, JC says they can't be bothered to look at the big picture, but take it on a shift or period at a time. That's a problem when the ONE goal gets lost and you focus on only little goals. You gotta do both. Get a long view that makes the little things meaningful. Having one good shift or period is why this team is frustrating, and the coaches better figure that out.

Give Malcolm Subban the majority of the remaining starts and let's see what he's got. No time like the present to find out and then make a decision.

This might work, but it is SO good seeing Crawford playing so well. I guess the best thing about Lehner was giving Corey time to heal and observe. He seems renewed, and like Tyler said, you have to temper that with his injury history. I held my breath when he got hit in the head and run over by the Blues. But, he was brilliant last night!

1-0 after two. Second Lightning goal was in first minute of the third.

As pointed out by Sharty last night, it was good to see Elbows' guy, Special K, get that goal against his old team.

What's the verdict on Nylander last night? Star or bum (as you all know it is one or the other)?

2-0 after the 2nd, give or take a shift....

45 minutes of “why am I watching this” to 15 minutes of “oh, yeah, that’s why”.

Not a very entertaining game until the third (too many PPs killed any game flow on both sides) unlike the Blues game - I guess better a mostly boring watch with a win than a scintillating experience with a loss.

Yes, you have to worry about Crow's health, but in the big picture, aren't all the players 1 hit away from a serious injury? I am really confused at the NHL for their lack of consistency when talking about head injuries. It was obvious when players target goaltenders heads (Malkin is villian #1) and nothing is done about it. WTF is the players union doing?

Lehner (got rid of him), Smith, Maatta, Special K....

Can’t swing a dead cat without hitting an “Elbow’s guy”.

As mentioned in the previous blog, Stan should look to move Kubalik at the draft. He should learn from his mistakes with Gustafsson and trade players at their peak value. If Stan can turn a 5th round pick into a 2nd (and maybe a 4th) that would be some solid asset management.

Lehner keeps talking about his time with the Hawks. He played like crap near the end there so not sure what he is talking about here. He seems to imply the Hawks benched over contractual reasons and not his play.

A 2nd and 4th would be amzing but a 4th only would ensure Stan is ahead of the game AND he gets glorious cap space.

I always find there are two sides of the story. Lehner is entitled to his opinion and there may be some validity to his comments, but I would guess there's a lot more to the situation than he has perspective on.

Lehner was upset that they started Crow after the All Star break. I think when Lehner made his no home town discount comment to the press, the Hawks decided to trade him. He pulled something similar with the Isle's when he said he wanted to think about the Isle's 2X$5 mil. offer, and Lamarillo who doesn't suffer any fools signed Varlimov the next day, even with his baggage.

yup

gotta be careful about mouthing off in the press about this team, or not doing what they want you to do. they'll let you go pretty quickly. See Raanta, Saarela, Perlini, Joker - to name a few
