I can't see Hank not starting in Philly, especially with a game on Sunday.

the 12 goals between them isnt enough secondary scoring.
- Brukie

so what are you suggesting, that none of us watch tonight?

I dont recall ever suggesting that. With the way this team plays. Its like a roller coaster ride. Thats more fun to watch!!

Great write Jan as always, Hank has always struggled in Montreal, compile that with him being relegated to basically 3rd string is telling about his future. That said while you want to ride the hot hand remember back to Hank's rookie year where he kept getting the nod and came down to the playoffs he was having double vision and migraines, it would be wise to rest Georgie here and there.

If Shesty was healthy Hank probably wouldn't start the rest of the season.

definitely not

they need every single point they can get, how can they risk playing Lundqvist when he has played 46 minutes total since February 1st?

I know this is absolute hearsay, but I wonder why the club hasn't considered asking Hank to go to the pack for a conditioning stint? Get him a game or two of action to stay fresh. That being said, he has to play tomorrow. We really can't afford to run Georgie into the ground, because if he gets hurt then it's Hank and Berube in all likelihood the rest of the season.

I know this is all conjecture, but if we make the playoffs Shesty has to start even if he just came back right? Or do you consider riding a hot Georgie?

I think it's not an issue this year because you obviously wouldn't rest him in the playoffs, but it bears watching next year. The most games he's ever played in a year is 39, so far this year he's appeared in 35 combined. I'm just not sure it's a given that he can play 75 games next year. I just think people need to pump the breaks on play him every night. You don't want to put a kid in a situation where he could be set up to fail.

I think he plays like 60 next year, and even then I'd keep an eye on him. It's hard for anyone to just massively increase their workload like that.

From the last blog:

So not true. The team is over achieving. No one can say any different. I would like to have seen steady improvement not 0-60 in 4 seconds!!

Balanced scoring and better defensive play exists. I think this team will have it in 2-3 years.

Love ya Hank, and your jersey will hang in the rafters, and you’re going to the hall, and you’ll always have a home in your adopted city. Now, do the right thing for this franchise, and retire. Soak up all the accolades you’ve earned, which will be that much more rewarding, with the knowledge that you’re helping your team accomplish what it couldn’t in front of you. In other words, one last time, be our priceless backstop. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, be with your young family, because they’re only young once. Long live the king!

now that they got rid of Skjei's contract, man, if Lundqvist would retire after the season it would solve absolutely every problem Rangers have

suddenly 14 million in additional cap space we didn't expect to have

Yea I see that.

You stated that the rangers “have no secondary scoring to speak of” did you not? I just proved they have more than the BEST TEAM IN HOCKEY.

I can read yes, but you can’t make a valid point
