They don't appear that bad. If New York picks in top 3 it goes to 2021. Haven't seen what's on the 2nd yet, but the first alone is nice.

The inclusion of Nick Ebert in the original trade was a salary dump as he was earning $300K in the minors.
The return of a 2021 fourth round pick is unimpressive but so has Namestnikov's performance. Outside of his first 10-15 games with Ottawa, he was a non-factor.

Talk this morning on TSN was that Pageau wanted to sign in the 5-6 year, $5M+ range with the Sens. No brainer to walk away from that and take this.

There is no way you're paying 5 x 5 for Pageau. Love the player, but this is an awesome return. A player like Tierney can easily take over that role (if he is not flipped too)

1. he wanted more money and term than a team with a strict internal budget should EVER pay for a 3rd liner

2. Lou offered an INSANE deal that Dorion could never turn down
