Thanks Wesley for you humorous article. The Jets have to have the same drive and and aggression that the 3rd line shows. Kulikov has been a detriment to the Jets defense but it's Niku, who is Maurices and some fans punching bag that pays the price. He just doesn't get any chance when he's only playing with pylon-like Kulikov, Biteito and Sbiza. He is virtually a rookie and it would be interesting to see how he would play next to a solid stay at home defender like DeMelo. Could Samberg be the answer, if they can sign him? |

Won’t be long till Eakin centers the 2nd line. |

Let's hope the Jets watched the Canes last night. You can win games even with a zamboni driver in net as long as you play with intensity, intensity being the key word.
Why the Jets can't out and put it all on the line in the FIRST period is beyond me. Time and time again this has happened this season. The game does not start at the beginning of the second period!
Should have a "W" if they today if they come out firing on all cylinders. |

Maurice unexplainably is breaking up his 3rd line by putting Eakin in place of Harkins and moving Roslovic to the wing, again. I hope this isn’t true as the 3rd line has been playing great and Roslovic has finally showing what he can do at center. Put Eakin as the second line center and send Copp down to the 4th line as that line hasn’t had a point in 21 games. |

Eakins looks competitive, making hits which is nice to watch since the team has zero grit.
Btw, different topic, 29 leads the team in giveaways at 54 (at the moment of this post), Kuli is close 2nd at 48, Morrisey at 43, Ehlers and Connor tied at 35, then a drop off to 25 for Copper.
Edit: I didn't look far enough down the page. Pionck is 57, Scheifle at 43, Poolman and Wheeler at 40 so Laine doesn't lead the team in giveaways, but leads the forward group. Laine leads the team in PDO, one of the stats that Rexy used many times in his posts. Laine leads at 103.5 |

With Bitteto getting the start today, it's clear that Niku has no future with the Jets.
Niki's value is dropping and as such should be traded ASAP.
To FLA: Sami Niku, Adam Lowry, Dustin Byfuglien
To WPG: Vincent Trochek, Mike Hoffman |

Not surprised that Laine leads the way.

Well considering that some posters believe that Lowry is the second coming of Guy Carboneau, Florida is getting a steal of a deal. Lol.... |

Is Laine playing today ? Oh yeah, he took a penalty in the 1st.

Jets could make all the DeMelo and Eakin moves they want, but until they get that second line center this team is going nowhere.
Amazingly Harkins looked great with Scheifele. Even when Scheifele is not scoring his wingers look good. Ehlers, Connor and Laine look invisible when not with Scheifele. |

Jets really needed this win because it's not going to get any easier. I'm pretty sure Nashville will get one of the wild card spots despite the schedule compression they will face. The big battle will be with Arizona, and whether or not they trade Taylor Hall , it might have a big effect on the Jets playoff chances. My guess is that they are such a playoff starved team that is highly unlikely they will cave and trade him.
Despite their win today, Washington has struggled of late. Its do or die time so we need at least a split against them or I would think that the Jets can kiss the playoffs goodbye.
Any deals Chevy makes now will be very last minute deadline steals for players with some term. |

The Jets have the worst and most overrated coach in the league. Maurice has no idea of how to deploy his players from line combinations to defensive pairings to who plays in the lineup. Oh well only 3 more years of him entertaining the press with his witty repartee. |

I agree Scheifle can elevate players game for sure and that we need a solid 2 c. But there other needs as well like a big dog Dman and some grit. Is grit gone from the game now?
If I have to give up a high profile winger to get a solid 2nd c or a prominant Dman, I know who I am trading. |

Put me down for him too. I will suffer with the loss of the prospective all-star for the gains of consistent star caliber play. |

Another no show game, that's quite a few recently for a team that's supposedly trying to make the playoffs.
Wheeler is still looking beat down since moving back to the wing, like playing center took years off his career.. Lol
Will be interesting to see if Chevy does anything else, this team desperately needs an upgrade on Copp, he's a good 3rd line player but that's it, they could add two top 4 dmen but it won't make much difference until they get a real replacement at 2C. |

Harkins busted his ass and 55&26 looked better for it. He carried them today

My bad, I am wrong with my statment that Laine leads in PDO (luck) as Bitetto is 104.2 and Beaulieau is 107.9 but these two don't have the games played that Laine does.
I have a new perscription for reading glasses that I need to fill. |

He certainly seems to be able to play at this level and looked right at home on the 1st line. Apparently Harkins is the type of player that works hard at improving himself. Good on him!
If I could land a Tkachuck kid for the lineup, I would ship Laine off so fast and maybe even throw in a draft pick. This team is sorley lacking in the scoring grit department and its not going to get fixed this season. |

I would have thought that Wheeler leads in giveaways. Why in the hell was Bitetto dressed today. He should never play another game for the Jets.

He shouldn't of been signed in the first place, other NHL teams have better depth dmen signed and playing for their AHL teams then Bitetto. |
