You're probably right. Piecing together what GMJR has said the past few days...'depth forward'... 'possibly one with championship experience' .... 'someone good in the room'.. plus linkage by credible reporters... I'd say odds are at 85%.
Which also makes me sad because I think this is a year to go all in ..the east is so stacked and one more piece could really tilt the balance in our favor.
Speed is great but I'm still worried about a 7 game series with the Caps or Bruins. Sheary has to score to be useful and right now hes in a neck and neck battle with Dom Simon to hit 10 goals. - YouMeAndDupuis9
Buffalo’s forward depth is complete ass, which limits the ability of role players like Sheary to produce. I am not worried about the productivity of a line of Sheary-McCann-Hornqvist. |

Yah, and Sheary has shown chemistry with Hornqvist in the past. That wouldn't be bad.
I think Goodrow would be a nice addition out of SJ. If only for depth. He is a bigger body who can skate well. Has one more season signed under 1 mill. |

Legere and Poulin officially off limits according to Rutherford per Yohe. No more ifs ands or buts about it. |

Since everyone is throwing out names we may look at to acquire for the bottom Six. What about Jesper Fast? I previously brought up Evan Rodriguez as an option he is another guy I could see playing well here. Or Zemgus Girgensons even though he is a left shot I could see him playing well outside of Buffalo. I really would like to see Vesey even get a chance in our bottom six. |

The Penguins are like one of the top 5 teams in hits and people are still worried about physical teams lol poops comical. |

The pens might have more hits than Washington but there is a hell of a lot of difference between them hitting and Pittsburgh. That and surviving all the hits.
I’d take skill over grit everyday, but it would be nice to have some guys that can play and get physical, or at least be durable lol.
Going the opposite direction of that Kase would be a nice rw option. Good potential but bad injury history would have to lower his value. |

Whats comical is using hit counts as anything useful. |

Then maybe people shouldn’t be arguing that we “don’t hit enough” which is a stupid premise to begin with. Make stupid arguments you get stupid responses. |

See, this where I think people's brain's are effected about the supposed lack of physical play... durability...just because they are not durable it doesn't meant they're not physical. The Pens hit often and effeciently. Some of the most gritty guys of all time left the game before they were ready. Durability and physical are not the same. |

Friedman just stated that the Penguins and Predators are both interested in Sheary and have contacted Buffalo about him. Buckle up kids, sully's nephew is coming back. |

How can anyone look at thins lineup and think "we should add another forward".
I can look at all 4 lines and be happy. I cannot look at those 3 defense pairs and be okay with sending them out everynight. Every single forward is undoubtedly a top 12 forward. Riikola and Ruhwedel are not 5-6 dmen. to be honest we should be looking for a pair of d-men to push one or both, Petterson and Marino down. And i don't mean to poop on Marino or Petterson, but at this point, i think they are both closer to 4-5, and would do well with a legit 3 d-man. Like a jake Gardiner or COlten Parayko type. |

Figures, that was the one series Sheary played well if I remember correctly. Two of the most aggressive traders in the league, let's see how this turns out. |

I don't feel this is the year to go all in, not with Jake and Dumoulin's injuries, no key FA losses, other contenders having cap issues, and the possibility of some youth helping (Poulin, POJ). So I'd like to save some bullets for next year's deadline.
They needed to do something to stay a contender and they did with Zucker, and I'm for either smaller moves or ones for term, but not all-in this year. |

I hear you... but when I say all-in... I'm not talking about rentals, I'm talking more about someone like Palmieri who we would have for two postseason runs and will make it that much easier to ship out a forward in the off-season. |

its not just here. This is a thing on the Buffalo boards all the time.
"We want guys that hit people"
great you out hit a team meanwhile they beat you 5-1.
People hate Reinhart because he doesn't go hard enough.
Legit has been said "He doesn't get hurt, so he obviously plays soft"
On pace for 70 points, but doesn't hit enough, so he stinks. |
