I think it’s fair to say all the young players I mentioned have a decade to remain top players in the league. Coots has maybe a five year window. Giroux...I’m giving him two more seasons of Relevance. For all we know this year or next year could be our best opportunity.

Coots is only 27. I think he has more than 5 years left. Even if his offense doesnt remain at this peak he will always be a great defensive center

I think G's career will last longer than 2 more years especially if he plays at wing.

Let's go Flyers!

I'd start Elliott. Give Hart a break.

I agree with this assessment. Not sure when our window to contend will truly open as it depends on many development factors as we know. I do think it's critical to get into the playoffs this year so that the young players can start to see what it's going to take to win a round, several rounds etc. best case scenario this year for me is to get in the dance and pull off an upset first round. If Hart gets on a roll, I can see this happening.

Ustimenko left Sandstrom in the dust this season. Impressive for a kid who's two years younger and never played in a top pro league.

I know alot of the fans on this seem to post that this is just a building year and we're not true contenders, however I truly disagree, Look at the lineup Carolina iced last year into the playoffs, On paper we're not worse and in many ways "better", This team has slowly gained an identity and it sure seems like they're playing with some game plans, I'm looking forward to what coach does come playoffs with adjustments, personnel and what not. Who are we afraid to face, Tampa and Boston? No one wants to face them but we can win a 7 series against either - Power play really needs to get hot.

going to be interesting to see what happens with Coots and Giroux both being UFAs after the 2021-22 season.

Now that Ustimenko is up with the Phantoms, I guess it'll be Sandstrom in net for the Royals tomorrow night. I'm actually going to the game as my daughter's vocal ensemble is singing the national anthem. I figured I'd see one of them play, but was hoping it would be Ustimenko. I guess I'll have to catch a Phantom's game now.

Why give Hart a break? This is a crucial game and he played well 2 nights ago.

17-18: .909 SV%, .925 ES SV%

18-19: .907 SV%, .918 ES SV%

19-20: .898 SV%, .908 ES SV%

I’m guessing their contracts will flip but be a little higher. Coots 9.5. G around 6. Depends on cap. Coots could get more. G will be a second line player. 3 years at six. Two at 4 Retired. Coots 6 years at 9.25 to 9.5 or extend for 8 at 8.5 to 9.

Hasn't been terrible. Just like Hart's road numbers, Elliott's been the goalie in some games where the bottom totally dropped out on the team and it pulled his stats down with it.

Overall, the key number on Elliott is his 10-5-2 road record. He's been good in most of those games.

G takes a team friendly deal and Coots get paid. If the Flyers are true contenders, Coots will give a hometown discount.
