Anyone who thinks they will get "a haul" for Gus bought way too much weed from the dispensary.

As usual, Stan overvalues his assets, asks for too much, misses chances to make deals, and watches the rest of the league pass him by.

Did I say they'd get a haul? I have no idea what they'd get for him. The law of supply and demand has been around for quite some time now.

The bolded is based on pure conjecture.

Ahh it pays to buy the best....Yes that might be true. Gus has serious defensive shortcomings sometimes, but when you look at how many trades already involved 2nd and 3rd round picks, and for WHO ?? Are those Dmen seriously better than Gus ? There is still 5 days to go and anything can happen. What do i hope for ? If Lehner dont sign, he is traded for a 1st. Gus is sent packing for a 2nd. We use OUR pick on C Marco Rossi, who looks like Kane but can take faceoffs and play defense. Then we package our picks from Lehner and Gus trades and move up and take G Askarov. How does THAT sound ? Sounds good to me.

Nah. New Jersey has 3-1st round picks this year. They'll take skaters with the 1st 2 then select the Cossack goalie with the 3rd.

Which will be louder after the TDL, The calls for Stan's head over the trades he made or the trades that weren't made? Asking for a friend.

Neither, both, who cares. There is always a better trade to be made.

Probably about what he will fetch. Anyone hear anything on JP’s expectations/demands for staying and playing in the US next year? I don’t completely understand the draw for him, but he seems to still be held in high regard.

Man, you fly off the handle quick. There is almost a week left to the deadline. What is the rush? If (god forbid) he is able to pry a 1st for Gus are you going to be mad about it? There is more to a trade than just “send this guy for that asset”.

Is a 7th sufficient return for Gus? Absolutely not, and fans would (and should) be irate if that was the return for him.

That guy literally pisses and moans about everything.

This sounds to me like standing pat:

@BenPopeCST
Colliton on convos with Bowman:

"We’re both on the same page as far as you try to win now with the players you have, and also look ahead, because you want to have long-term success."

Which would be GM malpractice given the ability to use the open cap space to take on expiring deadweight contracts for picks. He didn't use the Hossa money last year and looks like he may be letting $13M just sit there this year.

Every year Bowman says basically the same thing, he likes the team, or he isn’t looking to make a move and some years he doesn’t make a move and some years he does. Bowman will make a trade if he feels it will help the team. Bowman will not say if he will or will not make a trade.

If all he could get is a 7th might as well keep him
