Tyler Cameron: Time to sell?
I started the last blog with, "Before the Hawks ventured to Western Canada, I knew this would be a make or break."

Well, it's broke.

I can't help but think though, how much could the Hawks benefit from starting to sell, sell, sell.

Yes, I know there isn't a ton to actually sell, but there are some sellable pieces. And the selling has begun…

If the 'Hawks are going to go big, they need to go big now, because sending off a big name now allows for that player to assimilate into his new team in time to make a difference in their playoff run.
What big contract comes back and what contending teams have great shots at very high first round draft choices this summer and possibly future summers?

Tyler or anyone else in the know: What ever happened to the trade with Vegas that had "future consideration" attached to it? Is that sill on the table, or was it never on it to begin with?

The Knights arranged for Stan to be comped at a casino for a weekend.

We have to sell, but we have to sell selectively. Boqvist, Dach, Dcat, Kubalik, Beaudin, Mitchell, Kane, and Toews all stay, everybody else should be up for sale. The return on Keith, Saad, or Strome has to be real good, otherwise we keep them as well.

Stan will stay put until the off-season, get nothing for Lehner, and set the stage for a whole lot of no big changes.

He missed his window thinking this team could make the playoffs when it was apparent long ago they wouldn’t.

Here is to hoping the team forgoes pride wins when all that matters now is lottery odds.

See below list of DMen with more than $3 mil cap hit that are currently on IR or LTIR. So maybe there is a market for Gus and Maatta. I think a 2nd round pick for either Gus or Maatta might be too high. But you never know. Desperation could get some team to overpay.

It is most certainly time to sell, especially given the returns we're seeing with other sellers. LA got a great return for Toffoli, a 2nd and Madden is pretty damn good. Madden may not be an A level prospects easily a solid B+ and the Canucks have been pumping his tires since they drafted him.

Stan should be all for dealing Gus and Lehner at these prices. If somebody is willing to take on Maatta then got for it. I'm a huge Saad fan but Stan shouldn't be shy about trading him if the deal is right.

Stan should also listen to offers on Caggiula, as much as I'd hate to see him go.

I don't expect Stan to sell-off too many assets at the deadline, maybe 1-2 deals.

Is Robin Lehner worth a 1st rounder, prospect + roster player?

No way.

I think either a late 1st round pick (maybe conditional on how the team fares in the playoffs) OR a prospect and a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I think if Lehner is traded he does not resign with the Hawks. In that case they sign Crow for another year at less than his current cap hit.

My guess is that Lehner has a wink wink deal with the Hawks already. But they will not make it official until they trade Corey, the season ends, or after the TDL.

Can see one of Gus or Maatta being traded but not both. If both traded Hawks down to 5 D on the roster unless a D comes back in the trade. But why would a team needing D depth trade away a D? Gilbert would be the logical call up for a replacement for either Gus or Ollie.
