I feel like Vancouver won this one on first appearance (but won't know for years). We get a late 2nd rounder and a former 3rd rounder while they get a 27 yrs old proven 20 to 30 goal guy who has scored at all levels and plays sold D. Vancouver now has 2/3 of "that 70's line". I was hoping for a late 1st rounder based on his performances and what other teams are paying for similar assets.

Looks like a pretty fair trade, madden could be a stud down the road but VAN is looking to try and win now. Lots of top forward prospects on the farm and madden is listed as a center, which Van is set for years to come (madden is likely to pan out as a wing anyway). Also as a college player and given VAN’s depth he may not want to sign with VAN anyway. Could look bad if Vancouver misses/gets bumped quickly in the first round and toffoli doesn’t resign. But it is likely madden won’t be anything great within the next 3 years anyways

Not a bad trade if Toffoli resigns. Boeser is out for close to a month, so Toffoli should help. Filled an organizational need high on Benning list, scoring winger who is competent defensively.

Hurts to lose Madden as he is a really nice prospect with a lot of upside, but the Canucks are set at Center for the next 6-7 years with Petey, Bo and Gaudette, so not sure Madden had much of a chance of breaking in with those guys in place and it would be a waste to keep him with the Comets or on the Nucks 4th line.

Goaltending and forwards are set, especially when Boeser comes back. Really nervous about the defence though. Canucks need another solid top 4 defenceman if they want to make the playoffs. The current group isn’t good enough....
